Reading too much into beating this Australian side is dangerous.
That said England didn't do too much wrong - Bring on Ireland in the Semi
True. But they’ve beaten them by 24 points. And Australia were able to beat the All Blacks a couple of months again, so whilst it’s not the best Aussie team ever, they’re hardly mugs. That said England didn't do too much wrong - Bring on Ireland in the Semi
Dream game for England in that Australia were very predictable in how they were going to play but don’t have the accuracy to execute against a top nation.
Very well played by England, even Sinckler kept his discipline. Thought the ref was average but the TMO on the Oz forward pass was risible. Never before heard a TMO try to tell the ref what he decision should be before anyone has even seen the clip...

I thought the in game commentary on ITV sounded really harsh on England in the first half. I prefer a neutral unbiased commentary, but they kept emphasising how Australia were doing nothing wrong (which was fair enough) but England were just lucky.
England gave away too many penalties, but apart from that were excellent. Australia are rarely crap in a big tournament situation but just weren't quite good enough here. I suspect the pitch wasn't man enough to cope with the multiple scrum failures.
Can't wait for the remaining fixtures, nice to get ours out of the way early.
