I think that's unfortunate with Watson stumbling, and a good decision from the ref.
I agree. Ref has been excellent.
Totally agree
Same here.

Much smirking here at the ref's white man red man comments, the wife walked in to the ref commenting to a tongan that he had made contact with a white man.

once i had explained she said what is he going to say if NZ plays ENG !

If England play like this against NZ or SA, we’re going to be given a proper lesson.

Ireland were as dull as ever to watch, this morning frown

Too many handling errors from England. I think Eddie changed too much, too early Nd that's upset the mental situation.

35-3 is that handling error score?

Job done but a sloppy performance - too many penalties and handling errors. Hopefully they will sharpen up before we play anyone decent

I think it is. I don't think a cricket score was ever going to happen, but should have been a little better.

Not a thriller. England did everything it needed to do, but would have done it earlier if handling had been better.

Tonga mostly let down by their kicking there IMO, far too many kicks going straight to England for a counterattack. Put up a much closer fight than I expected though given the 92 points the All Blacks put on them in a warmup game 2 weeks ago! Some big hits going in both ways.

Can't see how that is a try from Best
Nor me. Very surprised Barnes gave it without even going to the TMO
I don't see how the referee actually on the spot can know better than some random bloke on the internet watching it on the telly?

We did ok, rusty in places, not all flowing as it should, but it's a decent starting place.

Knocked off a bit of rust, everyone got a run out and no one was pounded too much.

Reckon it was one of those where in the end it was a better performance than we give credit for, seeing the drops in the back line and the butchered try chances.

Every team makes a few errors, we weren’t far away and its never easy when you make that many changes.

Solid start without being taxed too much

A lot of talk over here in 'the valleys' is that England will win the tournament. I spoke to Terry Cobner last week and he rates them highly!!

I'm self employed and semi retired so with luck I won't miss a game.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for this - I'll try and quote it every couple of days as a reminder.
