Are we saving Moeen for the 20/20 matches then? I'd definitely want him in both limited overs line ups.
Even one spinner is a rarity in Englands ODI's lately. They are trying out Matt Parkinson as a leg spinner.

So Moeen doesn't make the cut - plus with the bat its been a while. But down the order you don't get too many good chances.

Moeen was pretty awesome in the T20 Blast, especially with the bat, but they are presumably trying out a few new players.

What was that all about ? Umpires calling the batsman back ?

Yes, unusual once he'd (wrongly) given him out. Fairly academic in the end unless we lose by five runs though.

SA got off to a flyer. I can't believe that review, I have never seen a more blatant wicket, and it was missingbiggrin

44 off 30 should be a routine chase.

Really need a couple more overs of Roy and Bairstow together.

We were poor with the ball and in the field up until the last 3 overs, we managed to claw it back thanks to Jordan. We were looking comfortable after 10 overs then let it slip a bit. That result could have gone either way. I thought Roy and Morgan did really well with the bat. Ali always seems to do well at county level when batting but never really produces for England (not that he should, be he does for his club side). At 7 for 7 we should have took 2s rather than going for 6s.

Commentary on Talksport made the usual mistake of judging the SA total insufficient before England had batted. That said England did rather throw it away showboating with the big shots when there was no scoreboard pressure.

I have rather got into T20 cricket on its own merits over the past few years. I do love Test cricket but is quite an unwieldy format for the average viewer sometimes, especially if you have a family, whereas I can sit there and watch a T20 when the kids have all gone to bed. I normally follow Test cricket on the radio these days (especially at work) because I no longer have whole days available to sit on my arse following the action.

Should've put Wood in before Rashid. Hey ho. Rush of blood from young Curran.Easy to offer advice in hindsight though.

Blimey, second last ball thriller in two days. Nice one Curran, thought it had gone after a 6 and a 4, and Saffers needing three from last two balls. But two wickets from last two balls. Curran clap

Curran's last ball might well have been given as a wide if the batsman had left/missed it. It was about two stumps outside leg...

Game changing, momentum shifting knock from Moeen.

Narrow margins.

I assume you are a fan of (Root) vegetables, but he doesn’t play in this side. Juicing beetroots not really my thing, though very good for blood oxygen levels.

Cracking day ahead, lets hope for another close encounter. I’d love to see QDK or Bairstow make a big century.
