Same as me. Have been out for a few rounds (3 in the last 4 days) and whilst I had some decent rounds (2) 1 was a shocker!
I think that's what's so good about the new WHS - you're now based on an average of your best 8 scores out of the last 20.

No more going up 0.1 everytime you play. I have a bit of a buffer now as there are 4 poor scores at the bottom of my 20 games which aren't included in my best average, so in theory I could have 4 stinkers and still not affect my handicap.

Those people with counted scores on the cut line however, will see a quick change to handicap if they're replaced with poorer scores.

Do it when you’re ready, you won’t get a Boxing Day sale on custom fit irons.

If possible you want to try the irons from real turf as well, not always easy at this time of year depending on where you play!

What irons have you got it mind? What do you play off?

I’ve used Ping for many years and recently (finally decided I’m good enough!) gone for Mizuno MP20’s.

So like Jim above either of those brands for me.

Never been a Titleist fan for no real reason and certainly don’t like Taylormade, again this is just personal preference.

I would also look at Srixon.

Re the clubs, if I hadn't have gone for the Orka route I was very tempted with the t100 look and perform great. Being honest anything you choose these days is mainly personal preference they all do a great job it's just what looks and feels the best for you.

Finally decided on a course and joined, bring on 2021 hopefully pans out better than 2020

Also. Tried a range finder out and don't think I can be bothered with one. So now considering a Garmin watch. The S60 looks like decent value for a refurbished one. But is the S62 worth the premium or are there other alternatives?
Currently using an app on my phone which I don't mind, but would rather not carry it round.
Smaller the better for me. Least amount of options and functions, too.

I use the Garmin X10 and love it. Small, thin, basic. Does everything I need.

I have an Apple Watch and use MScorecard and easy to get all the distances, and hazards on my local courses.
I used to use my Apple Watch - but found it inaccurate when comparing friends Garmin's and range finders. Several manual checks later.... and it was inaccurate! Lost the trust in it and went for the Garmin.

In the end I went for the JPX921's. Fantastic club and (for me) miles above the Ping G710/I500, Taylormade P790's and Titleist T300's.

Really happy with the results gained some extra speed with a change in shaft and dispersion was a lot more concentrated.
Enjoy mate! You can’t go wrong with Mizuno IMO! How long is the wait?
