Very nice, not sure I would change my p790s for them, but Id be happy to own a set.

Was good to hit alternate shots with each, very similar and hard to tell much difference, the sound and feel the mizuno may have the edge, much preferred the ball flight on the p790s did balloon up as much, distance don't think there was anything in it at all

@bodhi

I'm extremely lucky with regards hitting off turf - we probably have one of the driest courses in the country! And our range is..... turf!

Even during this wettest of winters we've played main tees, main greens and we don't play prefered lies/winter rules. Thank God for sandy links!

Did you have them in the same shaft? May need a different one?

I am profoundly jealous - we're built on an old quarry, so normally drain pretty well, but even that has struggled this winter and is currently closed. In fact to get a game I had to fly 5,500 miles to California to play - OK we had a conference as well, but I managed a couple of games when I was out there.

Also managed to pick up some of these:

https://www.titleist.com/product/titleist-exp.01/T...

Not available in the UK, they were an experimental release from Titleist, with a new cover they are trying. Haven't tried them over here, but in Cali they were very impressive - especially with the irons. Flew straight and true and stopped dead when they landed, so picked up a dozen to toy with over the season. If they make a full release they will definitely be worth a look, as they are likely to be £5 - £10 less than Pro V1s.

Played 18 with one and had a run of 4 birdies in 8 holes on my way to an 80 at a tough course, so definite potential there.

This is a good deal, lads!

https://www.greatmagazines.co.uk/golf-world-magazi...

24 Srixon Z-Star balls with 12 month subscription to Golf World. Single payment of £64.80, and if you use the code: 10OFFMAR you'll get a further 10% off, so a total of £58.32.

So that works out at £29 per dozen for a top ball, plus you get the magazines thrown in!

Played at The Addington yesterday as part of a society

Mixed round, 33 points so +11 including a a lost ball, horrendous chipping and poor course management mitigated by a holed out 8 iron on the hardest hole for an eagle and 5 points....

Great course, with mine closed for 45 days of the last 80 or so, open only with mats otherwise, I'm looking at moving there....

That is a stonking deal, the Z-Stars are still £39 per doz at American Golf!

Our place actually dried out enough over the weekend to go for a game yesterday - battled through 30 mph winds, rain, snow, a bit of hail, and then sunshine for the back 9 - just had a bounce game but went round in 82, which given the conditions and the fact I couldn't putt I was quite happy with.

Have fun,

Some years back , my wife was involved in sponsorship for the euro PGA tour physio bus, long before I was even interested in golf, and we had 8 debentures to play there!

I used to go along to the big events with her and it just seemed like watching paint dry at the time (:

Friends used to love it, always popping in to see what they could scrounge from the room full of giveaways, balls , shirts etc. Still got a few umbrellas.

Cheers, it's a great track (played it a year ago as well). Just hope it isn't too wet, but we've had a pretty dry week this week so hopefully all will be OK!

Anyone got any recommendations for new golf grips? Going to re-grip my Mizunos as they still have the original grips on them and are well past their best.

I have a MCC Std on my driver, MCC Plus4 on my 4 wood (both second hand clubs) but my pro shop have a deal on Lamkin Crossline grips at £5 each. Seems a bit of a bargain.

These any good?

you guys getting out there and playing are doing well, Ive played once since last week of December, and my course has been closed the last 3 out of 4 weekends.
its about this time of year I start thinking that I don't get my monies worth out of the membership, spend a month on the fence, then renew in a panic first week of april!

Where I'm at - but this time it looks like my mates and I are all likely to jump ship - our course has been closed for 44 days since November, most weekends with the other course closed permanently for winter works (repeated next year). We're now looking at joining another - its been closed for one day in the same period and gives full playing rights at 4 other courses within a cost which we can hopefully negotiate to be the same.

Really lucky the course I play is built on sand, no matter what the weather its always in good nick never any temp greens, matts or closure

The downside is its always busy are everyone flocks to it.

This winter has been more about lessons and the range, had 3 lessons so far and and hit 2-300 balls a week, where as in previous years soon as the bad weather came I just use to bin it off for a few months.

Great grips imo, especially for £5. Great feel and very durable, I've had them on a few iron sets over the years.

I've moved to Tour Velvet Align now as the ridge helps me set my hands correctly, but it was very tempting to back to Lamkin when I got my grips done a couple of weeks ago. If they'd be £5 a pop, I probably would have smile
