Part of his culture, he had to battle his way out of the mean streets of, er, Marlow.
Considering it (Shadow Creek) is in the desert, it is the greenest course ever. It is very vivid.

Does anyone have experience of the GPS rangefinders Izzo Swami 5000 and 6000?

Not sure if the 6000 has enough to justify an additional 40 quid. Doesn't appear to going by the features description.

I like Hatton too. Its nice to see someone with a bit of character that isn't afraid to show his feelings. Good or bad. It's refreshing in contrast to the many monopros.

Agreed, he seems like a nice guy. He did one of the European Tour challenges with Ian Poulter (fastest hole with a team of 4?) and he didn't take himself too seriously.
Also, the Americans love his accent, they think he's a member of the royal family.

Just finished the second round of the weekend, both in our autumn medal.

Playing off 9 I came tied for 1st yesterday, 3rd on countback, with a net 69 - level handicap versus a SS of 74. Today was a net 71, was going so well, until I lost one left on 5 for a triple...still managed a +3 front 9 but was +8 on the back...

One thing I obviously need to work on more is my putting. 11 3-putt’s and 2 4-putt’s over the 2 rounds - 15 shots and I was a cumulative +20...

From speaking to people SS was looking at 73 today so with my 2 triples today likely to be rounded-down I may end up going down a shot or 2!!!

ETA - tied for 1st, 2nd on countback - waiting on news of the cut shortly...yesterday is on the portal and saw me to 8.0, let’s see what happens today as the average score was a bit higher!!!

Have you had a putting lesson recently?

I had one before lockdown and really helped with my alignment and approach to reading greens and putts. Biggest change came from getting a newish putter. Went from a 34" to 35" in length, and went slightly heavier in weight. Given me so much more confidence, and smoother on my stroke.

I still get the odd 3 putts, but they have significantly reduced.

Thanks, yes - changed putter immediately before lockdown - have one of the triple track putters now which is going a lot better.

Speaking to the pro to try and get a putting lesson sorted as and when the diary allows.

I will say though that a good part of it is the club I'm at - the greens were still running quickly and have a lot of very subtle, hard to read breaks. I wasn't alone on the 3-putt's over the weekend but its definitely going to be the main place I can pick up some shots over coming months.

How you finding the triple track? Does it help with the alignment?

I picked up a Cleveland take on the Oydssey 2-Ball and I love it. Certainly helps ensuring im aligned correct.

It is a lot better than the oydessy fang I had before however I wish the tripletrack marked balls were available for titlest (or a tool existed which allows me to draw them onto other balls) as I’m not the biggest fan of callaway balls.

Had fun in our first game of Winter League yesterday. As it was Stableford and my first outing with the new Driver, I thought I'd throw caution to the wind and take it out on every hole where it was practical - ended up with 39 points playing off 8, with a blob and 4 lost balls. Strangely enough the blob and 3 of the lost balls all occurred on holes where I couldn't take Driver and went with 3 wood instead hehe

Also came 2nd, so came home £13 better off, which was nice.

In the market for a driver to replace my 975J/Ping G5.

Can you expect to get decent savings on an outgoing model? Looking at things like the Mizuno ST200 and I'm curious as to how long you can still get fitted for a model after it's replaced.

Just had my new system handicap through...

5.3 (from 8 after this weekend and 9 last week), playing 6 on my home course as apparently it’s harder than average...

This is going to make shooting under it a whole lot more difficult!

Ouch! I had mine through, hasn't changed at all! 10.2 playing 10. What's your course slope rating?

OK, so I think that 113 is the average difficulty. 55 is the easiest and 155 the hardest.

We have 2 courses at our club, One is rated at 116 and the other 126. So I play off 10 on one course and 11 on the other!
