Hopefully the forecast changes tonight. I can't see us bowling enough overs tomorrow to get them out.

Love the cricket fans annoyed at the team for getting into a massive lead and putting the foot on the throat.

The hopelessness of the situation will weigh on the WI batters.

Anyway, we have two of them already. 8 wickets in two days. Even with three sessions lost to rain, we will be fine.
Sorry to remind you! biggrin

The BBC usually gets more accurate the nearer it gets - On Sunday there was no rain clouds on that forecast !

The PH cricket thread rarely changes!

Except, do I detect, that after all these seasons Garg is finally coming round to my way of thinking?? First, do not lose, then win...

Root has done it right. Giving Burns time and chance to get his ton was a useful and wise idea. Giving himself some attacking time in the middle was also a wise idea for Joe. Relying on the English weather to do as predicted...yeah, that has *never* been the basis of a good plan. Ever!

Whatsmore, you have Broad & Anderson in your locker on a wearing pitch under overcast skies on days 4 & 5. Broad is on something daft like 8-40 and Jimmy has bowled 19 overs, 30 runs, 2 wickets. It’s either a maiden over or a wicket over. That is ridiculous bowling. And Archer is the changeover!

Yeah, you back yourself to lose a day and still knock their pegs back.
Again, apologies to repost your opinion.

Wearing pitch means nowt, now.

First rule in a 3 match series when you are 1-1, don't throw away a winning position by needlessly continuing to bat when you need to bowl the oppo out in order to win, to secure the Test series! Secondly, don't gamble on the weather being in your favour to bowl the opposition out, no matter who!

I rest my case.

The early forecast looks a little worse today which will be a shame if we cannot bowl them out .

This is the way England have decided to play test match cricket for the next few years & if we do not get enough time to get the remaining 8 wickets then i don't think the English team & coaches will be that bothered because as i feel it's all about progress leading up to the Ashes next year.

In all fairness i won't be too bothered about not winning this match & the series, The West Indian team look battered & bruised & they deserve so much kudos for agreeing to play in circumstances that none of us have witnessed before ,

I still think England will win today .

At least if we only get a session today, the West Indies are unlikely to score another 389 runs.
We have avoided losing the series is my prediction. Well done England!

Think there will be plenty of play today.

Regardless of whether there is enough time to win it, I just want to see Broad get his 500th

Fantastic from Broad, amazing that both Anderson and Broad get the same player for their 500th.

Is a top player for England - stunning effort over the years.

Indeed, brilliant effort by Broad, and to think he started his cricket career as an opening batsman!

Broad just shows how good he is. I've seen calls recently for him to be dropped from the team and Wood / Archer / Woakes to take over. Unfortunately none of them are good enough yet, but Archer will be eventually.

Could be over by tea.

The pressure the WI must be under with good bowling on humid condition must be huge but a lot less with no crowd cheering and chanting them on. Should of got barmy army on speaker and cheers/clapping for both side wickets/fours!

Last chance saloon time with Holder joining Blackwood as I reckon Dorwich won't last long with a couple of balls up around that fat lip he collected on Sunday!

Another short rain delay but Holding better keep up the rain dance to save Windies now.

And Stokes has been Mr Invisible in this match which is jolly decent of Root to make a game of it, although he could have given Bess a few overs to even up the competition!!
