Yes at StGeorges in the open, mind you if I rocked up there on our clubs day trip there without my Jacket and Tie I would not be let in let alone in let alone on the course with a hoodie

At my old club (several yrs ago), a committee/board member rocked up for the club championship in a tiger style mock neck, refused to change and was subsequently given a 30 day ban!

It took 5 yrs to push through a change to the rules that allowed for the words Golf Wear, (so it would incorporate modern golf fashions), the change to modern golf trainers (without spikes) when people started to wear them to the bar also caused a re write of the rules!

I had something similar when those Tiger shirts came out. I ended up sat in a committee meeting in my early 20s arguing that we should be allowed to wear them. Which was allowed.

I couldn’t be a member somewhere so backwards that people would walk across the course to have a go at someone about what they are wearing.

The problem my old (2 back) club had that in the late 70’s they literally had the scratch guys in there 20’s in string vests and ripped jeans (as it was assumed that everyone would dress appropriately), rather than plus 4’s and shirt and tie, hence a ‘draconian’ (to me) dress code was in in place until 2010, there was a picture in the club’s centenary book!

There’s always a requirement for standards IMO, but at my current club and last club it’s much less formal, and these are clubs with a much higher regard.

If someone is doing something inappropriate it’s always best to address it privately after a game, rather than stomping across fairways, to me that was always a breach of etiquette.

Well I wore it for 9 holes this morning….. nothing was said!

Although it was terrible weather and not many people about.

It’s a nice thing to wear though.

Anyone playing One Length irons from Cobra at all? I used to have a set of the F7 and F8's but moved back to a set of Mizuno's.

Always been interested to try them again, and keep hearing the new models are a significantly better club than the previous ones.
