Awful from England. I don't think anyone played well and most had stinkers.
Every single one of them needs to have a look in the mirror. Just not acceptable is it. Not good enough in any aspect whatsoever. Once you are in the refs focus you have to play smarter. Plenty of Scottish offenses not picked up because the ref wasn't looking for them. Not a complaint, just an observation.
I have to say this is the first time I think ever that I can say England where rubbish for a whole 80 mins.
Usually I find in international rugby that even when losing badly your team get some momentum going for a period. But at no point did it look even vaguely like they had the upper hand.
What I find most alarming is not the lack of endeavour from the backs but how the forwards couldn’t get hold of the ball or create moment. Even the best backs in the world can look average when given slow ball against a well formed defence.
England have gotten away with it for a bit by basically winning the arm wrestle for possession and momentum.
Shocking couldn’t get it together for even 5 mins though!

All this England were rubbish, Scotland were average, is just sour grapes. England played as well as they were allowed.by a team with a plan which they executed well.
Strong first up defence and good kick defence and England don't have a clue what to do differently.
Okayyyyyyyyy.Strong first up defence and good kick defence and England don't have a clue what to do differently.

maybe. The problem is that it is hard to give Scotland their due praise when your own team has been woeful - I really don't know how to measure Scotland on that basis. I could argue (with some justification) that Scotland should have put at least another 15 past us and that they didn't points to them being on for a frustrating 6N too. Strong first up defence and good kick defence and England don't have a clue what to do differently.
It sounds like I'm taking it away from Scotland - I'm not they were utterly better than us in every facet of the game and we were lucky to come second
Great, well deserved result by Scotland, they played really well and were on top from the start and even missed some chances to make it a bigger win.
God knows why English keep writing them off. Scotland have played some amazing rugby and had wins against all the big teams over the last few years, all they need is some more consistency.

I stand by my contention that you can only play as well as you are allowed and a lot of England's mistakes were due to the pressure they were being put under. It's hard to look good when you have little possession and then kick it all away..
I think Eddie Jones is out of touch with his 'power & kick' tactics. England have so many great backs who are being wasted. An inside centre handling the ball once in 60 minutes is pretty damning

Agree. I was expecting the usual ‘ we were woeful etc’ from press and usual swing lows on here, but bar the usual, everyone seems to have realised that they weren’t ‘woeful’, they were beaten in every department. Are you actually reading the comments?Strong first up defence and good kick defence and England don't have a clue what to do differently.
Scotland were disciplined and excellent in managing the game, they capitalised on England’s incompetence.
They throughly deserved to win but a great performance would have smashed that poor a England by 20 points.
That said they had a game plan which wasn’t expecting England to be so cack, and they executed it very well.

Will be interesting if England have been worked out and everyone just makes damn sure the back field is well covered. Force them to come at you.
Lack of plan B has been mentioned for the last couple of years - evident today
Poor individual performances - penalties, catching high balls, missed tackles
Leadership - All seemed a mess.
Massive congrats to Scotland, played a great game, put us under pressure, put the knife in and twisted it at the right moments.
They were unlucky not to get more points with the amount of time spent in our 22.
