England lucky to keep it within 7 and get that losers bonus point tbh.

Could make all the difference in the end.

Scotland were disciplined and excellent in managing the game, they capitalised on England’s incompetence.

They throughly deserved to win but a great performance would have smashed that poor a England by 20 points.

That said they had a game plan which wasn’t expecting England to be so cack, and they executed it very well.
Yes he is. England were made to look incompetent via extreme pressure and a varied attacking strategy. They weren’t trained ‘incompetent’ or woke up so. England were not ‘cack’ . They were stuffed.

Nice touch from Hogg to bring the new boys forward to lift the cup for the first win at HQ since way before they were born.

My post was slightly tongue in cheek as a response to the attitude of 'we lost because we were rubbish' which a large number of England fans display, never giving credit to opponents when they lose.

I stand by my contention that you can only play as well as you are allowed and a lot of England's mistakes were due to the pressure they were being put under. It's hard to look good when you have little possession and then kick it all away..

I think Eddie Jones is out of touch with his 'power & kick' tactics. England have so many great backs who are being wasted. An inside centre handling the ball once in 60 minutes is pretty damning
Agree. England play for contact, Scotland demonstrated that playing to avoid contact works.

All this England were rubbish, Scotland were average, is just sour grapes. England played as well as they were allowed.by a team with a plan which they executed well.

Strong first up defence and good kick defence and England don't have a clue what to do differently.

I was picking up the same tone.

Very few handling errors, which is normally our Achilles Heel. Bags of belief too. Great to see.

Well done Scotland the brave! Deserved win. All sorts to admire but kicking from Hogg was class and my begrudgingly favourite bit.

Us sassenachs were a bit toss and I'm feeling quite grumpy about it. This made me giggle from tw@tter though:

Bloody good effort by Scotland. They had a plan. We just ran on the pitch and helped them execute it. I hope they go onto to win the tournament. An honest side with no delusions of grandeur for once.

On the one hand I wouldn’t be talking about Grand Slams just yet- a Grand Slam is a difficult thing for anyone to achieve. But there’s no reason why Scotland shouldn’t be heading into the rest of the championship with anything other than great confidence. Today’s Scotland against today’s France would be a great game.

This picture has gone viral and caused upset.

It was taken years ago at Murrayfield.

Actually controlled the game rather than reacted to it. Excellent tactical performance.

The writing was on the wall for England during the Autumn games. Witless, brain dead kicking game, ill disciplined, and zero to offer in attack, with Farrell and Youngs the chief culprits. Farrell in particular really is garbage. The French and Kiwis wouldn’t look twice at him. And the stupidity of Jones to pick a fly half who hasn’t played a game of competitive rugby for months. Idiot,

Well played Scotland. Never put a foot wrong. And Cameron Redpath will haunt England for a decade to come.

oh the best team won - no question about that. The advantage we've got is that we don't have a poison dwarf (we've got our own problems on that front!) running the country so I'll take that thumbup

The scrum half was absolutely shocking. Without a shadow of a doubt the biggest liability in a team of complete liabilities.
