How crooked were the the put ins from the Japanese scrum half? One handed hooking it into the second row. Makes a mockery of the laws.
Nothing new. It’s been a joke for years.
Never seen it so blatant as yesterday. I am amazed he didn't get pinged.

Watched various bits of the game yesterday.

I don't think The Lions will frighten South Africa.

Nor me. I predict a stuffing. They'll obviously win everything now.

I’ve just watched it and thought it looked like what it was- a warm up match. Still really looking forward to the tour proper.

A dreadful contest, a dire game, nothing learned and two senior players injured.

What an absolute waste of time that was.

3 of the South Africans have Covid. Will be a logistical test now that’s for sure.

Saw that and that the Sco A vs Eng A game got cancelled because of positive tests. I really hope they manage to keep the virus out of both camps so that the tests can go ahead but I fear there’ll be more disruption ahead unfortunately

Mark my words. These tests are going ahead, come hell or high water. There's too much at stake financially.

It would take an outbreak/isolation incident big enough to render either team without 23 available players for them to cancel a test at this stage.

Moving it to next year would have made the entire tour more viable, but too many people had too much money on the line for it to happen.

Rugby is taking a back seat to money this year.

C70R...agree totally. Best idea of the lot was to move it to next yr. It has the potential to be an utter shambles of a tour unfortunately. Even more unfortunate because a Lions tour to South Africa is invariably seen as the pinnacle. We often end up touring there when they are regarded as the no 1 team, the high Veldt and the almost fanatical religion about the whole makes every occasion an absolute epic story. This may end fizzled and asterisks all over the place.

Anyone else watching Will Greenwood's Lions Podcast?

Remarkable honesty, candour and humility from Will and Sam Warburton... and very funny in places.

interesting the Yarpies beat Georgia 40:9 yesterday... I'd actually had them to score 50 but have a winning margin of 30+.... so close!

About as good a start to a tour as you can get. Some high class performances with understandable issues with new combos and some players trying too hard.

Best players were George, Itoje, Watson, Lawes, Harris, Adams and Hogg

Good efforts from SInks, Price, Farrell, LRZ

A little less than the others for Wyn Jones, Hill, Faletau and Russell

Daly was great off the bench

If Gatland sticks to his everyone starts in first 3 games then Weds will be something like

Vunipola
LCD
Fagerson
Beard
Beirne
Navidi
Curry
Simmonds
Davies
Farrell
VDM
Aki
Daly
Watson
Williams

It's nice to hear Daly being spoken of as the class player we know he is - he's not being played at 15.... surely the 2 factors are not related ideaidea

I thought Daly was electrifying. By coincidence I watched this morning the highlights of the 2017 first tests vs the ABs. The back three of Anthony Watson,
Liam Williams and Daly were incredible. Gatland has more options now on the wings, but I think LW is likely to be the test 15, and Watson will either start or be on the bench, with Daly at 13. Gatland really seems to be able to bring a lot out of Daly and AW, and he (rightly) loves versatile players.

Hard to judge properly because the opposition were poor. Still, a win is better than a loss.

Lions' defence needs a lot of work, as is to be expected in a scratch side, but the 'Boks would have made hay.

Not many clues as to Gatland's plan for the tests. 2 jackals or a 'big' six? Twin playmakers or a line busting 12?

Looking forward to a sterner test on Wednesday.
