All I can think about reading this thread is the Futurama episode where Bender becomes a woman to win at the Robot Olympics.

Don't know about bravest athlete ever, but Carl Nassib is currently joint leader of the NFL courage league alongside Colin Kaepernick

It's certainly a ballsy move as it's not the most inclusive of sports, and it's likely to restrict who'll take him in the future.

Fair play to him - certainly a brave thing to do. Bloody tragic It's seen seen as brave though.

I would like to vote for Joe Schilling as not just bravest athlete, but also bravest human ever, after his recent life or death “self defence” action against a psychotic huge intimidating racist.

Mine :

The British skydiving championships 4-person team event was won last time by NFTO, an all-female team competing absolutely equally with all-male and mixed-gender teams.

Long range rifle shooting.

This woman demonstrates off hand shooting a .22 rifle at 300 yards. Her target, an egg. Mad Skills.

In fact it has been argued that women make better long range shooters than men. Margaret Thompson Murdock entered the 1976 Olympics and competed against the men, she tied against her male teammate but the judges awarded him the gold and her the silver, since then the event had been gender split.

Hayton is correct, as are Emma Hilton and Tommy Lundberg.
