I don't think she has anything like the commitment that Murray had.
As I recall Murray was a poor trainer when he was younger and lacked commitment as well. The tough as nails glaswegian boxer Scott Harrison offered to toughen him up at one of his training camps in 2005. Wisely the young Andy did not take him up on the offer

I actually expect her to be presenting / commentating on Wimbledon before she's 30.
100%. they will love her and she'll be presenting forever. The commentary box did tend to be full of second rate players / the best Brits at the time.
But at least they had long careers as the plucky runners up.
One win & a sick note isn’t a great CV!
I don't understand the anti ER sentiment and all the negativity. It almost sounds like some posters want her to lose and get injured. Quite bizarre, but it's PH after all.
I appreciate every one is a pundit but I wonder if those experts actually understand competitive tennis, or have actually competed at all themselves. Actually I wonder if they have played themselves even at rec level.

I'm certainly not anti ER and I would love to see her fulfil her potential, but there are a couple of red flags that make me feel like this may never happen.I appreciate every one is a pundit but I wonder if those experts actually understand competitive tennis, or have actually competed at all themselves. Actually I wonder if they have played themselves even at rec level.
Firstly, I think her parents 'influence' is now a negative on her career. They have obviously done a lot of things right to nurture her to achieve what she has achieved already, but I fear their interference is now holding her back. They now need to take a step back. And I am not sure ER is mentally where she needs to be because of this. I fear, because of her upbringing, that she will ever be able to achieve the correct balance on this.
There is way more to the coach changes that we are told. I suspect the speculation around this is much closer to the truth.
My other concern is that she has had some injuries which tells me something is not right in her training, particularly the repeated blisters on the hand. If she had just picked up a racquet then yes I could see happening, but after the years she has been playing her hands should be hardened to this, particularly if her training is managed correctly (see above point of concern)
I really hope she can overcome the above and achieve the balance needed as obviously has the underlying talent to achieve lots. My fear now is that all the above is creating a pressure cooker mentally within her and this could be career destroying if it is not resolved.

I agree with this. ER is an incredibly talented player, but she is very young and has had a problem with coach retention, which is the first thing she needs to get sorted out. I think her parents may have had too much influence on the tennis side, which should always be left to the coach IMHO. I played first division county league badminton in men's and mixed doubles, which meant that I was regularly playing both county and international players and sometimes beating them. This was at a time when England / Great Britain was winning stuff at international level.I appreciate every one is a pundit but I wonder if those experts actually understand competitive tennis, or have actually competed at all themselves. Actually I wonder if they have played themselves even at rec level.
I was working full time, but I was playing six or seven times a week, usually from six in the evening to sometimes midnight, usually matches, cup games or tournaments. I was fortunate that I only had two coaches for the twenty years I played competitive badminton.
I hope that ER gets everything back on a level keel.

So we should just hand the title to the number one seed and avoid playing all this Tennis?
More a comment that it wouldn't be a surprise to see her lose to the number 7 seed who is also apparently in good form, rather than a confirmation that she "doesn't have what it takes". Which seems the attitude of some. She did what was expected by beating the slightly higher ranked player and all she can do is turn up to these tournaments and be competitive in each one.
