Well of course we would support them.... if they actually play!
Seems to spend most of her time instagramming her life, becoming a brand ambassador, modelling, holidaying etc.... all whilst being constantly "injured". It's not a good look when you aren't "earning" it through your main profession as a tennis player. Going through coach after coach after coach... are they really the problem.... ?
Did you miss the part where she had surgery and couldn't play for 4 months?Seems to spend most of her time instagramming her life, becoming a brand ambassador, modelling, holidaying etc.... all whilst being constantly "injured". Or was that not enough of an injury for you?

I must say I do sort of agree with you. Seems to spend most of her time instagramming her life, becoming a brand ambassador, modelling, holidaying etc.... all whilst being constantly "injured". She can't help being injured of course, and if it were me I would also of course make as much ££ as I possibly could while I could.
But from an outsider's point of view you can't help thinking it seems a bit, I dunno, "off" that she's making all this success because she's supposedly a tennis superstar but she doesn't really play that much tennis of late.
Again, she can't help being injured, and I'd be doing the same as her, but I can see why it might stir up some opinions like this.

I don't think she is that bothered about what you think of her look. I can't blame her.Seems to spend most of her time instagramming her life, becoming a brand ambassador, modelling, holidaying etc.... all whilst being constantly "injured". Injuries happen to the best of us and not one person's body is the same. But there is a lot you can do towards injury prevention and a lot of it IMO is mental. And by that I mean understanding your body, knowing when you are pushing too hard or having the right support around you to tell you things, even things you dont want to hear, maybe even to relax a bit.
In the few(!!) interviews I've heard with her, she seems to want to trust herself mainly and not listen so much to outside voices/coaches, people that have been in the game for a long time. She comes across a bit stubborn if I'm being honest and it's no wonder she has such a high turnover of coaches.

And I'm not too bothered too much about as a tennis player - simply because she doesn't play. A one hit wonder currently that if not careful will probably go the same way as a certain Laura Robson.UTH said:

That there's too much attention and pressure on a 21 year old?
That the public have expected her to be a superstar, rather than anyone or anything else?
I don't see ER on chat shows, celebrity TV appearances and so on. She promotes stuff through her Instagram like every other person with some followers, but I don't see her in the Daily Mail every day falling out of Nobu when she should be practicing.....
The attitude of some, demonstrated on these pages, is as if she's being funded by the tax payer or something - like she owes everyone success or we've been cheated.....that's a weird viewpoint.

Do you think that maybe, just maybe, the public expect too much?

That pressure doesn't seem to affect her ability to use that attention in cash in on it though and publicising it on instagram. That there's too much attention and pressure on a 21 year old?
Maybe time away from those distractions and focussing on her health and tennis should be her priority.
The problem is her success came too early.
She got the slam to her name, secured lucrative sponsorship deals and has financially set herself up for life. The hunger and desire has gone.
The only thing for her next is retirement and commentating Wimbledon on BBC. Maybe if times get tough she'll start an OnlyFans but that's unlikely.

Do you seriously believe that she is sacrificing her tennis training/conditioning/performance and focusing on her Instagram, which has 17 posts on it in 2024 and is most likely run by one of her team?
Christ, you paint her out to be Katie Price.......

Novak Djokovic has over 60 posts on Insta this year and didn't get to the final of the Australian Open
Perhaps someone needs to tell him to focus less on Instagram and more on tennis........
At least Novak actually plays tennis. Perhaps someone needs to tell him to focus less on Instagram and more on tennis........
So, he basically can't be arsed and has better things to do in his private life.
Heathens. I'm sure you'll be straight on to his social media comments telling him to get his finger out because he's not focusing enough on tennis.....
I think that, given his longevity and track record over the years, he's probably more entitled than most to start picking and choosing his events - it's not like he has much to prove to anyone is it, whereas ER has done the square root of naff-all to demonstrate that the US Open win was nothing more than a flash in the pan.
