Emma lost to Iga Swiatek in straight sets earlier 6-3 6-1. frown No shame in losing against the No.1 player!

She's got some very useful matchplay and some wins under her belt, so wishing her the best as we get into the new season...

Properly beaten by Ostapenko today.. These are going to be Emma's real challenges over the coming years, and the players she'll have to beat... No easy task. Ostapenko is so strong, and when her attacking a game is working, difficult to beat...

As of this afternoon ER is now out of the top 100 in the WTA Singes live rankings, at 101, and if she doesn't do well in Madrid may well not be British Singles Ladies No.1 for much longer as Jodie Burrage is now 104 in the live rankings and aiming to qualify for the main draw in Madrid after a 2-0 win in the first round of qualifying today.
She will get a qualifier in the first round (could be tricky), if she wins will have Swiatek in round two (good luck with that).
Not getting any easier for Emma. 2023 looks at best, challenging! But to be fair, it needs to be.....

Best case scenario for this year I'd say is her being fit for the US Open - Begins on the 28th August....

Twenty years old and five coaches in around two years, that is just not going to work. I really cannot see how she is going to progress in the future, which is a real shame as she is obviously a very talented player.
I wonder who really manages "Team Raducanu"...! Emma, or her father..?

Saw this article which says average age is 27.

Women also tend to peak earlier than men at around 20-21. Top players may retire a bit later but I wouldn't put Emma in that bracket - she's more Anna Kournikova.
The difference being Emma Raducanu has won a tournament and Anna Kournikova hasn't...!

OK Emma did lose against the better player. But around 3 hours of matchplay is the first step. Australian Open next, so let's see.
I didn't see the match, but from what I've read it seems like she's competitive and still wants to win smile

It's clear to all that Emma played the perfect tournament to win her US Open title in 2021, but this is like a complete reset and beginning of her career from scratch. Going forward she can only judged from this point appreciating she's one grand-slam in the bag..!
