I'm not sure if Emma's dad might be an "issue"? He may still make many of the final decisions at the moment as Emma's so young, and none of them could have been ready for her US Open win. She need's good advise and it must be difficult knowing who to take it from and those she doesn't. She is a mature young lady though and I do see her taking control of her career in tennis.
Emma is still on a massive learning curve... just as a US Open Champion..!

Looks like she'll play at the Transylvania Open next as Romania is her fathers birthplace. Emma is known to have been influenced too by Simona Halep adding to her enthusiasm to play this tournament..

Agreed.. Wishing Cameron good luck in the final there. Will be interesting seeing his progress during the major tournaments in 2022.

Another thing is, there are only 4 Grand Slam tournaments per annual season, so most of the other's don't register much unless you have multiple sport tv packages..! Emma needs to make a few quid between the big tournaments..!

After winning the US Open, Emma now gets her first ever WTA win - Good to see her back to winning ways....!

Emma had such a stratospheric rise in tennis, winning the US Open before even winning her first title on the WTA.. All very back-to-front.
I imagine her waking up every morning, not quite believing her success in America and all the marketing appearances she's made.
Must be a lot to take in as a teenager.
I'd like to see her regroup with the right coach going into the 2022 series of Grand Slams.
Look forward to seeing her performances in Australia, Paris, London and New York next year. It's just to early to know how competitive she'll be on the circuit in the medium to long-term...

Emma is playing in the round of the last 16 now at The Linz Open in Austria against Wang Xinyu. Is again doing it the hard way....!

Lost 1st set 6-1, won the 2nd 7-6 (7-0 tie-break) Battled hard in the 3rd, but lost it 7-5..

On a brighter note, Emma looks set to appoint Torben Beltz as her coach. He previously was long-term coach to three-time grand slam champion Angelique Kerber. Hopefully he can sprinkle some of that success on Emma in 2022.....!

It looks like she is mentally up to the challenge and can fight back when dropping a 1st set.
Probably just needs to work on her fitness and endurance - But she has had an awesome 2021

Looks like the match was played in a kind and friendly way with her good friend Elena-Gabriela Ruse. Nevertheless though, was nice to see the winning smile on her face as she prepares for next season

I didn't see the interview because the BBC cut off the transmission when the match finished.

Haven't seen an interview either, but that's how it appears in the Telegraph item..

Poor behavior from Andrew Castle.. Yes, there is lots of hype around Emma, but never should an opponent be frozen out in such a way with being interviewed....
Emma was probably just too kind to comment there and then, but I bet she wasn't impressed with Castle...!

MBE for one tournament win seems a little premature, but it's not unusual for that level of honour fairly early in the career of a sportsperson in one of the higher profile sports.

Emma didn't choose to get the MBE, and yes, she's only got one title - Just happens to be a US Open Title..
She may never win another though I hope she does, and as for Lewis, I hope him being robbed or otherwise doesn't see comments about him taking over this topic...! Plenty of coverage and opportunity for Lewis elsewhere..!
