Telegraph has a seemingly in depth interview with her today.
Haven’t read it properly yet …

Hopefully Emma will up her game as she begins her grass court season at Nottingham...

Plays her 1st Round match at Nottingham Open today against Victorija Golubic. Start time approx. 12:40pm.
Goes into the tournament still without a permanent coach in place though...!

Hoping she'll have a good start to her grass season in build up to Wimbledon.... smile

My thoughts exactly...! I do wonder how she gets through such a routine and regular training programme, yet when it comes to matches she seems vulnerable to injury....

Edit: Looked better in that break of serve smile

Retired injured. Abdominal or stomach issue. Trainer called in after 2nd game in 1st set and treated her after each game before retiring in game 8. Biggest issue looked like her serve which she could quite literally just place into opponents court with very little on it..
If Emma was aware of this issue it may have been better withdrawing from Nottingham to focus on Wimbledon......
Another difficult day in her tennis career.... frown

Maybe those 180kg hip thrusts she was boasting about on her social media aren't doing her much good.

Something clearly isn't right in her training / prep that these retirements are racking up.

What a 1 hit wonder it would be though! Amazing achievement, I'd be happy living off that for eternity :-)

Indeed. She clearly hasn't been able to reproduce anywhere near the level and attitude she had at the USO but that doesn't mean she won't find them again. It's not like it was luck over 10 matches and 2 weeks.

She needs the best available support to find out what the issue is in terms of physical prep, tactical game and mental approach.

She seemingly has none of that atm. Which is weird.

Baffling now. Surely she’s not turning up knowing she’s in such a poor state physically?

Can it be just to pick up a few ££££? I just don’t see that in her, but what else would make sense?

She’s been absolutely hopeless, since firing her coach.
I bet he’s laughing to himself!

Yep, perhaps disloyalty has a price and it's karma.

Amen to that. She achieved something that very few players would even dare to dream about.

Wasn't it a mutual decision? Her coach didn't want to commit to travelling around the world so much.

Or as above, maybe I'm due a whoosh parrot.

Being injured once is bad luck. In the past year she has retired hurt about half a dozen times. To put that into perspective, in not even one year on tour she has retired more than Federer has in over 20 years.

Another Laura Robson I think.
