Our course open but on Temps so what's the point. I've had flu all week and feeling a bit better the last few days so with the temps turning it'll be a day getting out the house for a breakfast and practice session tomorrow before in laws visits on Sunday.
Very annoying watching the PNC on sky last night!

Ours has been open pretty much the whole way through, on full greens as well. Decided to take advantage this morning and play in the winter league, and it was fun but entirely silly. Anything landing on the green bounced about 30 yards through and putting was a lottery, but was good to get out. On the 7th tee one of our group produced a winter warmer, which was appreciated.
Our club also has a forfeit for the lowest score in winter league, which involves having your picture taken in a silly jacket. As I had 22 points I'm in pole position for the weekend, so I got it over and done with:
Amusing morning, but I'd rather not play frozen winter golf for another year or so

Anyone working on any interesting swing changes in the off season?
I’ve switched to a more neutral grip on the advice of my coach and that has to be the most horrid change to get used to.
Yep. Grip change was done about a year ago from weak to neutral. Which has caused a bit on an inside takeaway. I’ve already been working on stopping early extension and shallowing from the top. I’m getting there with that. I’m currently working on turning my hips out of the way to help that and generate more speed.I’ve switched to a more neutral grip on the advice of my coach and that has to be the most horrid change to get used to.
Tomorrow if my pro is happy with progress we start working on my takeaway so my backswing isn’t as flat and getting my wrist into flexion rather than extension. This is going to be the hardest change I think.
We’ll see how I get on as I injured my shoulder and neck playing 5 aside and hitting balls is a tad uncomfortable.

Neutral grip puts grip into flexion already....Tomorrow if my pro is happy with progress we start working on my takeaway so my backswing isn’t as flat and getting my wrist into flexion rather than extension. This is going to be the hardest change I think.

Club path/delivery I’m pretty happy with and remains fairly neutral, face to path is all over the place for myself.

The clubhouse looks too close to that green for my liking (and ability )
Don’t ever stop for a round if you happen to be passing Sleaford then. A little thin on the approach to the 18th and the bar staff might get one in the head! My home club has the outside cafe behind the 18th but there is a bit of rough between the green and the tables.

It's not actually too bad - 9 and 18 play downhill so in summer it's usual to take a club less than the yardage and let it run on, and it takes a brave person to try flying it all the way. I did get caught out once over summer though when the wind behind was stronger than I thought and cracked a window frame.....when the management board were having a meeting. Ooops.

I was playing at La Manga about 16 years ago and hit a high draw (couldn't do one in purpose of i had 100 tries) on one of the holes next to the clubhouse. It sailed over the mesh fencing designed to stop balls, hit the path once, bounced onto a 1ft wide piece of brickwork between 2 10ft wide windows for the restaurant and landed back in the fairway much to the annoyance of my dad who was a hole down in our matchplay game.

And my guess is when the ball landed back on the fairway you claimed it was entirely intentional? There was also the first time I played The Old Course at university, and thought I'd do what I'd seen the pros do on telly and try to cut as much of the corner on the 17th off as possible. After hitting the hotel twice on the same hole, I decided not to try that again....

I'd love to play the Old Course but I think I'd also put a couple in the hotel.
