Happy to host a PH game at my course - The Addington - for anybody wanting it provided I can find a gap between work/DIY
Always helps to get the guest fee, while the recent course changes have been significant!
Would love to take you up on that! The changes look great. Would reciprocate with a game at Rye for you.Always helps to get the guest fee, while the recent course changes have been significant!
Played in the first round of the club knockout on Saturday morning.
Had to give just the one shot against a guy that had scored 41 points the previous week, so was expecting a tough game.
Ended up beating him 5&3, and was only 6 over the card when we shook hands. A good day in the office!
This week I have a 36 hole comp on Thursday at Puttenham GC, Surrey.

After many years of reading the thread, figured it was time to finally post something. Have played much of my life, but not really played much since having kids 8 years ago. Finally rejoined Clevedon golf course just outside Bristol,, and now need to get my 3 cards in to get an active handicap.
Looking forward to seeing how I can progress over this season and enter a few competitions.
Nice one! Course looks nice. What was your previous handicap and what are you hoping to get once your cards are in? Looking forward to seeing how I can progress over this season and enter a few competitions.
Good luck!

Tough little track, tight and premium on accuracy. Didn't play very well, 27 and 29 points. No doubt another increase in handicap coming.....Had to give just the one shot against a guy that had scored 41 points the previous week, so was expecting a tough game.

Does anyone know the situation with the LIV tour and the Majors? Mickelson has said he is looking forward to playing in both but I don't think the PGA tour would be happy with this and would try to block him and others who have done similar.
The majors are run independently of the PGA tour. The likes of Phil, DJ, Garcia etc. will also have exemption for many as they're major winners already.

Does everyone here always complete their handicap rounds legitimately, i.e. with another player signing their card?
Yes.At our club, you have to have someone else complete and sign the card for it to count towards your official handicap. I think this is supposed to be standard practice.
I don't get it to be honest, I think that golf is getting bullied here.
The DP World Tour has a Race to Dubai for crying out loud - I'm sure that Dubai isn't far behind the likes of Saudi Arabia if you scratch beneath the glass and marble surface.
The WGC has a competition in China, another country with questionable human rights.
Over 700 people have died from shootings in the US since that school tragedy a fortnight ago. 700! And the US also has capital punishment just like SA.
F1 doesn't get this much bad press despite having a race in Saudi Arabia.
And let's not even mention the football, which is quietly brushed under the carpet by millions!
Of course they're it for the money but can you really blame them?

Played the Old Course at Sunningdale yesterday.
What can I say? Absolutely magnificent. Such a playable course, every hole a pure joy to play and each and every one could be a painting. Visually stunning. Superb condition.
Managed a very average 87 off of the whites, managed to 2 putt par stroke index 1 which was nice.
Going back next month to hopefully play the New Course (although I'd quite like to play the Old again now I know where I'm going!).

Do you know a member? I've always been put off by price to play tbh.
Hi Dan,No, it was an invitational so fortunately didn't have to pay!
Next month we have a friendly match which will see 4 of us go there and then we reciprocate and play them at ours a few weeks later.
I think it's around £300 a round or £500 for the day at Sunningdale? I'd be tempted to treat myself to a day with lunch for a special occasion - it's magnificent. Think you have to book quite far ahead though.
