Procrastination does good for me again….Having dithered about joining a club for the last few months and been a nomad, the club I was thinking about joining 3 months’ ago has just launched a 15 month offer for new members.

Joined this week and booked to play my first round there tomorrow.

Wondering about getting an inch chopped off the Gmax 425 driver as I've found I can hit the shorter shafted Gmax 5 wood further and more accurately than the driver. Can't seem to get out of the way of the driver somehow.

I know golf is very technical and I don't really want to go down a rabbithole of overly scientific advice.... but.........

have you tried gripping an inch further down the shaft?

I have but I don't get on well with that, feels wrong and makes me swing too hard.

I know what you mean. Sometimes my 3 wood is so much more accurate and just as long as my driver.

When I hit my driver though, it's a rocket. Just need to hit it more consistently!

Same. When it's correctly hit the 425 driver goes well over 250yds with no apparent effort and I'm an old geezer with a 19 handicap but I can't always get past the feeling of being cramped up by the length of the thing. I'm not short either.

Best club I've ever bought. I'm finding the length perfect, although it is long smile, and actually struggling to get out of the way with my irons. Maybe I should step back a touch on my irons!

Upgraded my membership back to full for this year after having dropped down to social member for the past 4 years due to you g kids and having no time to play.

Arranged a round with the boys tomorrow afternoon. I will be cold and muddy but I can't wait.

Still in 2 minds over buggy, it's quite a trek and hilly in places, July will be a little toasty there, but on the flip side people say you need to walk it to really experience it...
I hate buggies and will always walk.

Can't help but think maybe late September or early October would have been a better time to play? 1st July at 1pm is going to be fking scorchio!

Been invited to a boys trip in May and I'm buzzing - Vale Do Lobo (ocean) plus 2 other course and a few nights in an all-in hotel + youngish blokes = its going to be messy and a lot of fun.

We're all off to a curry/drinks next week to sort the ryder cup style teams for the holiday (and start the banter) which should be fun!

Unfortunately, we only got the choice of a couple of dates.

Some of the courses in that area are impossible to walk there just so hilly and long and throw in the weather and it soon takes it out of you.

Turned up early for our round this morning in the hope of getting away before our tee time, only to find the course closed frown

Today was going to be the day I shot in the 80s as well biggrin

Ho hum.

Played 9 yesterday lunch time - winter tees and greens but beautiful out and not a breath of wind.

Shot 6 over for 9 which for me is an ok score. - hope I can keep the ball flight I’ve got when the proper greens return.

Booked in for a full bag fitting at Tour X. Done over 3 sessions, first in a few weeks time.
Will be interesting to see, all my current clubs are fully fitted (all be it 4 years ago) and I was recently fitted for a new driver that really works.

44.5 inches is average length on the pga tour, I got custom fit and it's the fist thing they advised

So, standard length of 425 Max is 45.25in so taking account of the fact that pros can swing a bit harder than me laugh maybe I'll get half an inch chopped off and see how that feels. Thanks for the info.

Got my first eagle today bounce but still haven’t got a birdie!

Played by myself and it was really nice to take time over everything and having nothing else to think about. Most relaxed I’ve felt for ages. Also shot my best score of 83.
