Daft question all...who is showing the match live? Is it Sky?
Are the ECB doing any UTube live stuff?

Caught the highlights last night. Zak being Zak. Said it before, will say it again - put Foakes in as keeper and Bairstow up top replacing Zak. I just don't see us losing out on much.

Or is it TMS all the way?

I agree - however in Crawley's defence, he's probably doing exactly what Baz wants, and I suspect with a quick 50, he's ticked all the boxes.

And to be fair, any opener who can more often than not score 50 is good. It's the more often bit....

Yep, Sky Sports showing it live.

BBC have highlights. Not sure about what else.

BBC have TMS, text updates and video clips on line, and the Today at the Test.

Sky Sports are primary rights holders so you wont get full video coverage anywhere else

Got to say the commentary just isst the same without Bumble

So my Ashes chums, what’s the line up?

Bowlers are tricksy.

If you go. Jimmy, Broad, Wood, Leach as a four do we need a fifth? Is Stokes able?

Wood interchanges I assume with Tongue as a back up for the inevitable rest/injury. But is a four enough, can Roots sub 10 overs give the front four a rest?

Do we play five front line bowlers if so who’s the fifth? Back to Woakes or Rash ?

Stokes says he should be able and wants to be, but I guess its really up to his knee to decide. Jimmy has said its only really feasible for him to play 3 matches so they are going to have to make some changes later on, and I think he said that before the groin strain recently. Robinson can be included as well at some point.

The 5 tests are over 6/7 weeks so cannot see any quick bowler in all of them, we have lots of options though which is good

How aggressive is Stokes going to be with declaring today do we think? We already have a lead of 90. Reach a lead of 250 maybe and then come in? Despite in only being a 4 day game there is still plenty of time to bowl them out again and come out an whack some balls around. Do we go for a bigger lead and win by an innings?

Keep scoring at 6 an over for the next 40 overs - lead of 350. Should leave 20 odd overs in the last session?

Certainly won’t be any play on Sunday.

Shame there's no cricket equivalent of boxing's white towel. If I was an Irish bowler I'd be remembering an urgent appointment elsewhere right now.

Is this really a good way to warm up for the Ashes?

I agree that's probable, although there are some records which could be beaten...

Highest Individual Innings - 333 (Gouch, 1990 v India)

Highest Team Innings - 729/6 (Australia v England 1930)

Can't find the highest Innings declared with only the loss of 1 wicket, but that might be worth chasing??

Nope. Australia get to play India next week in the Test Championship final which is going to be a much better warm up for them

Yes.

This team is all about confidence and freedom. It's their first time together for a while and they need to reconnect with the spirit they've discovered under Stokes and McCullum.

It's a warm-up. I would imagine they've been working hard in the nets too.

Sorry for Ireland etc but I'm actually hoping that England will bat all the way through until the end of the innings with no declaration. Then see how cheaply they can bowl Ireland out. Apart from a chance to see what sort of nick the whole team is in, and to entertain the crowd who have bought tickets, what a powerful pre-Ashes statement it would be.
