Complete destruction from start to finish. Really need to see him fight Bivol now.
But if I was Bivol, I think I might wait for Canelo, or take an easier fight in the interim (maybe Buatsi, Yarde or Johnson), and then Canelo, and take Beterbiev after that.
Beterbiev v Yarde in October in London, Yarde mandatory for Betrbiev's WBO title, and Canelo is facing GGG in September.

Beterbiev v Bivol for undisputed needs to happen weeping

I can see Beterbiev making very short work of Yarde and being far too strong for Bivol too. He is a beast.

Given that this is prize fighting it makes sense for Bivol to try and get the money making return match with Canelo.

This also has the benefit of making Beterbiev another year older.

It would be a damn shame for boxing fans if it is not the Bivol v Beterbiev fight that happens next though.

I'm not convinced the fight will happen. I saw nothing to make me think Canelo has the tools to beat Bivol and Bivol is improving whereas Canelo is not. I suspect Canelo may come to the same conclusion despite the current bravado.

What will really put the cat among the pigeons is a defeat at the hands of Golovkin. Where will that leave the legacy. From 'unbeatable' P4P king to successive defeats against a huge underdog and a 40 year old GGG.

Canelo won't fight Bivol again. He's not going to come up from 168 unless there's an easy Cherry-Pick available.

It's absolutely infuriating we're probably about to get Beterbiev Vs Yarde and Bivol Vs Buatsi because Arum and Hearn don't like each other.

Nobody benefits from that, not even the promoters involved. Yarde Vs Buatsi is an absolutely massive domestic fight that makes each fighter a lot more money than they'll get in the aforementioned world title fights and one of them will actually win.

For Beterbiev and Bivol, you'd hope an undisputed clash in Vegas would net them more money than they can get from the British crowd supporting Yarde/Buatsi.

Yarde v Buatsi and Beterbiev v Bivol will still be there afterwards. The BvB money will be more, the YvB money will be around the same

The total purse size of Beterbiev Vs Browne was $1.1m, Bivol Vs Richards was similar (£800k). They are not big draws, I can't see how the money will be more than for a fight between the 2 most popular British light heavyweights.

Those fights might be there afterwards but the reason they aren't happening is promoters not wanting to work with one another and that'll still be true in a year.

I must be misunderstanding what you are saying.
You don’t see how Bivol v Beterbiev would be more than Yarde v Buatsi?

Beterbiev is a MUCH bigger name on. He's literally the monster of boxing and I would be surprised if his next fight is not PPV.

If he fights Yarde in London then it probably will be a BT Sport PPV event. Beterbiev has firmly put his name down as a big star of boxing.

Explosive KO's? Guaranteed action? Violence in both fists? Yes please.

It pops up on my Facebook all the time, some variation on Mike Tyson talking about how he would break the gloves in the dressing room and move the padding from the knuckle of the glove so that he could do more damage.
This is always posted in a celebratory way.
Whilst less severe, it’s not a million miles away from Margaritos prick tactics.
Do people think that Tyson doing this was fine?

I'm saying Buatsi Vs Yarde makes both of those fighters more money than they'd make fighting Bivol and Beterbiev respectively. Not that Yarde Vs Buatsi is bigger than Bivol Vs Beterbiev.

All of the 4 make more money with Buatsi Vs Yarde and Beterbiev Vs Bivol than any other combination.

I guess the major spanner in the works, though is that Canelo is still saying he'll take his rematch next year. In that case, it makes the most financial sense to Bivol to avoid Beterbiev until that fight is either made or Canelo turns it down because if he loses to Beterbiev he loses a massive Canelo payday. Similarly Matchroom will want Bivol's next fight to be with an in-house name so that the Canelo fight transfers to them should Bivol lose.

I love Beterbiev but 2 fights ago I paid £100 for great seats to watch him fight at a stadium in Montreal at 20% capacity. He isn't a draw to casual boxing fans. Buatsi, a British Olympian, Vs Yarde has more casual appeal.

No comments on the first AJ/Usyk presser?

Thought Usyk looked/behaved bang on. AJ appeared to think he was at an ESG board meeting.

Looking forward to the fight. It will be really interesting to see if AJ has been able to make any improvements. Can't see the result being any different but could be a better than they normally are rematch.

Really looking forward to the rematch.
It will be interesting to see how AJ has changed his style compared with the first fight.
I don’t think Usyk has to plan or have much of a strategy as he has such a great boxing brain that he just adapts to what is in front of him on the fly.
Usyk kept himself covered up so we couldn’t see his physique, reports that he has bulked up but you never know he may have gone the other way?

i know head to heads don't really mean anything but AJ didn't look comfortable in that stare down...when they turned to look out to the audience he didn't look himself

Really think AJ only chance is to be mega aggressive and try to bull and boss his way to a KO early...but the chances of that are very small I think. He can't outbox Usyk, can't win on points and maybe can't do 12 at a pace himself. A cultured bombs away seems the only chance he has?

I think you are pretty much spot on there.
