As a lifelong fan watching for the first time wink I enjoyed that.

Incredible precision and mindset.

Enjoyed that, it did all turn around when Littler missed out going 5-2. How many years has Littler got to win and still be the youngest champion?

Nice touch that.

Feel for Littler but Humphries certainly managed the game very well. Was a very watchable final!

MVG won it at 24, so he’s got 7/8 years!

A great final, Humphries scoring and out shots were superb!

As for our troll and the "mentally broken" comment, you don't half spout some utter ste!

I'm looking forward to tonight's final. It should be a good spectacle. Both players play at a good pace so should be a free flowing game.

Luke Littler is a generational talent that's for sure. I feel it's the way he keeps his 3 dart average at a constant that makes him hard to beat. Most players seem to have a good spell where they average 110 such as Cross last night for 2 sets then fall away with a bad spell with an average of say 90-95 (Not bad by the way just the standard is so high now) where as Littler is a constant 103-105 across all sets and that makes him hard to beat. Once he is in front, he is a good front runner too.

Humphries is the biggest challenge in the final. The form player of the last 3 months, 3 TV Major titles and unbeaten on tv in 19 games. Now World Number 1 too. I like Luke Humphries, seems like a nice guy and is pretty ruthless once into the flow of his darts. His demolition of Williams last night was clinical. Once he knew, he was ruthless in getting rid of his opponent.

Williams got exactly what he deserved. Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke!

It's going to be close tonight. I just think Luke Humphries may have the edge and take it but it would be amazing for Luke Littler to win. I'm not really bothered who wins it. I've loved darts for so long and it's so good to see it being talked about now.

May the best man on the night win!
Good post pre-final. I even wanted MVG to beat him and that’s saying something … !

I cringed at the ‘look-away 180’ attempts - in a World quarter-final FFS!

He tried one in the semi final when he was already about 4 sets down, he isn’t very likeable at all.

Luke Humphries post match press conference is on YouTube if anyone wants to watch it. He explains how much it means to him to win it and comes across as very genuine good guy, apart from being a Leeds fan.

I got caught up in the hype, and tuned in last night. Quite enjoyable.

A 16 year old shouldn't look like that, though.

Wasn't sure who I wanted to win, but now that Humphries has won it, I'm pleased he did, so clearly I didn't want the teenager to win. Plenty of time for him to win lots of titles.

He could order a pint at the bar when he was 8.

Ooooff Humphries just finding another gear now.

Is 3 sets on the spin too much for Littler? I think it just might be a stretch too far?

I agree with that.

The body language changed, Humphries stepped up a gear, which Littler knew he would if given half a chance.

Another fantastic end to another great tournament.

Forgot this was being announced.

I wonder who is going to be most disappointed about not making the cut to make way for Littler.

Not many missing IMO from that list. Possibly Danny Noppert, Stephen Bunting or Chris Dobey, but Dobey was in it last year. Apart from Littler, they are all in the top 8 anyway and Noppert ranked 7 is the only top 8 player missing. Gary Anderson could have been included I suppose, but he's ranked 27 and as great as he is, I don't think he'd be deserving of a slot this year.

Yeah can't argue with that. Now you've said though, I am gutted Gary's not in there.
I think Snakebite is probably the only one I'm truly going to be backing out of that list.
I wonder if my usual faves like Wade, Barney, Whitlock etc will ever make it back in.......Wade most likely I guess.

Phil Taylor was talking about it earlier. He intimated that he thought LL would maybe be better off missing it this year. I guess it was his choice so good luck to him!

I read a completely alternative piece from Taylor where he was adamant he should be in it lol! Sounds like Phil is going senile ha ha!

I read Gary Anderson was having a go at the media saying to leave the hype off LL for a bit as it could all go Pete Tong and pointing out that there was a lot of hype around Josh Rock last year and that his form petered out (possibly) as a result.

There was a lot of clamour for LH to be in the premier league last year and he was left out and it (in hindsight) looks to have been the right decision for him.

I guess we'll only know if it was right to include LL after the next 12 months....... (but he does seem to be a special talent)
