I see the PGA stars are out in force now, defending the PGA non-cut events.
Rory, Homa, etc.
They're all a bunch of hypocrites to be honest.
I've never felt more disconnected from the professional game as I do now, it really doesn't appeal to me anymore.
Amateur golf and amateur golf events are so much more relatable, The PGA, LIV and DP Tours can quite frankly get stuffed.
I'll watch some of the Open and Masters but that'll probably be my golf viewing for the year.

Why the PGA felt the need to go down this route is beyond me and, as you say, is hypocritical. It does show that they don't understand their audience.Rory, Homa, etc.

If the PGA had sat tight, I think LIV would have slowly been seen as the equivalent of the PGA Champions Tour with a field of ageing stars.
The pace of defections to LIV has slowed as any big name that was going to go, has gone. The format is still unproven, LIV cannot secure a proper TV deal.

Last couple of years I've really enjoyed watching the LPGA. It's far more relatable to my game as their distances are similar and most of the matches are pretty close.Rory, Homa, etc.

I for one have adopted their hybrid approach to a degree, binned the 4 iron for a G430 4 hybrid and it's quickly becoming my favourite club in the bag - 195 yards and a 48° landing angle, what's not to love (apart from wind )

What a joke it's all become, one of the best things about Tour golf, was that it was a genuine meritocracy, play well enough and you will reach the top.
Golf superstars? There's nothing cool or interesting about any of them, they're just brilliant at playing a sport we all love.
I refuse to pay to watch sport, so my real interest stopped when the BBC lost The Open and Masters.
Anyone of similar age (45), will remember just how brilliant the golf coverage used to be, including the Ryder Cup back in the day.
Growing the game, behind a paywall, with no cut events - what ballix.

Quite agree - don't watch tour golf. Watch all of the Ryder Cup and bits of Master & Open - other than that nothing.Rory, Homa, etc.

I just watch utube golf - much more relatable and entertaining golf in my view. Added bonus of not having to listen to commentators talking bollcoks.

And great swings. Only swings my coach tells me to watch are LPGA players. Currently Lin Grant.Got Sunday tickets to the womens open in August which should be good.

I think the last time I watched any golf on TV, Peter Alliss was commentating. They don't make them like they used to.I just watch utube golf - much more relatable and entertaining golf in my view. Added bonus of not having to listen to commentators talking bollcoks.

Some absolutely beautiful swings on the LPGA, my fave is Chiara Noja, 16, and just unreal.https://instagram.com/thechiaranoja?igshid=YmMyMTA...

I know what you mean. Some days run hot and a few of those 8 footers drop, other days nothing goes in. You don't feel you've done anything different but are 4 shots worse off.
Seems a good time for one of my favourite golf quotes:Leslie Nielsen said:
Golf is only called golf as all the other four letter words have been taken

Same here! Rogue ST 4 hybrid but also have the Rogue ST Heavenwood - essentially a 7 wood with a 3 wood shaft. 220 yards and stops dead on the green*.- if actually landing on the green. This isn't necessarily guaranteed.

Often wondered how the pampered US target golf pros would get on with a £500pa Welsh course with muddy fairways, random rough , bunkers thinly coated in builders sand, bobbly greens and crowned holes.
...on a grim, drizzly day in February. That'd sort out the men from the cossetted millionaires, I say.

All par 5's and any hole that isn't 400y+ is going to be a very good birdie chance. Winter rules will mean they can strike the ball cleanly. It would be target golf for them but of the winter variety.
Of course some will have a bad day, but I would expect half the field to break the previous course record.
