I never thought I’d say his but I really don’t care how England fare anymore. The rot set in by Jones will take years to eradicate and from what I’ve seen so far I’m not convinced Borthwick is the right man for the job.
in fairness I do think that SB was appointed too soon, in that regard a little like Johnson (without the attendant goodwill that MJ had) and I do wonder if it would have been better to appoint Scott Robertson who seems to have a better track history and credentials. What we do have is someone who seems to 'buy in' to EJ's methods and thinking, maybe with the harsher edges smoothed off but still EJ liteHill92 said:

great - looks like the French team from last week are having the day off and the Taffs think they're playing England

Issue is they are trying to protect players, and Steward was unlucky but he turned his shoulder and elbow smashed the Irish player straight in the head. In todays rules it’s a red.
and yet if he hadn't turned and braced for impact it might have been him injured. All in all it was unfortunate and 'a rugby incident' but by the current rules it's unquestionably a red. Whether the rules are a little too inflexible is open to debate (and there needs to be more done to stop players leading with their head, seen many times per match) but there has to be a halfway house between what the French prop did last week, the Scottish lad in the same game and Freddie...up until now I've not had any time for the thought of the 'orange card'/20 minute bin - there have a been a few marginal calls recently which make me think that maybe it is an option that should be considered (though there is the danger then that properly deserved reds would get downgraded)

I think the slow motion replays , which made it look horrible and subsequent crowd reaction didn’t help with the Referee trying to come to a decision
it remains to be seen if the disciplinary committee see it differently when reviewing it later this week (Tuesday ?? )
I suspect that the panel will find in favour of Peyper given that they've:it remains to be seen if the disciplinary committee see it differently when reviewing it later this week (Tuesday ?? )
