It's not hard: Stevie G.

Never has the "form is temporary, class is permanent" adage been so true. Lamps was a mediocre midfielder made into someone very, very good by Chelski and Mourinho, with a couple of excellent seasons, fitness and a great work ethic. But deep down, that mediocre midfielder is always going to be around.

Gerrard has always been an amazing player. He's performed on a club and international level, he can raise his game for the biggest matches, and at the end of the day, he'll always carry with him the skills and attitude that make him one of the world's best.

Well, it's a theory, anyway.

You're just too good to be true,
Can't take the ball off of you,
You've got a heavenly touch,
You pass like Souness to Rush,
And when we're pissed in the bars,
We thank the lord that you're ours,
You're just too good to be true,
Can't take the ball off of you.

Oh Steven, Steven, Steven Gerrard .... etc etc.

Can play all over the pitch and scream 'em in. With Xabi and Momo in the middle, I think I'm liking Stevie a bit out on the right there, I'd be a bit scared of him bombing forward and leaving a bit of a hole there if he was in the middle.

So that's Stevie 10, Fatty 0 ?

Lampards supermarket ad is less gut wrenching embarrasing than 'skills ball' steve tho'

Well depends on the game being played.

If for example it is football then Steve G without a shadow of a doubt. But if it is a pick up a pie game then Lamps.

SG for me.

Doesnt often go missing, doesnt often miss

Can change a game, grab it by the scruff and drag his team through, is committed and passionate as much as anyone (including Pierce). Can tackle, shoot, run, pass, play any position on the pitch better than most who are there natrualy.

What gets to me is how Erikson managed to get Gerrard playing like he didnt care, that has to take special skill & training..

Lampard hasnt ever excelend on his own, fair weather player does well when he has a team doing the work for him, stunningly wastefull in the world cup, and I assume the EPL, no wonder he scores more goals than SG, he never passes, always takes the shot.

Amazingly, not.

Sven G-E for example failed to figure it out. And far too many pub pundits agree with him.
