Watford - I was born next to the ground!

I'm a season ticket holder and try to get to as many away games as my wallet allows.

Having moved around a little bit in recent years I have always adopted my local non league. So far those have been Shepshead Dynamo, Hinckley United and currently Rothwell Town who play at the end of my street.

Cecil street?
shout C`mon the Bones!

Err I should say Cecil Street is at the end of my road.

Yeah but in Aus, Aussie Rules, Rugby League, Rugby Union and Soccer are ALL abbreviated to footie. You guys need to come up with your own abbreviations for sport.

Bit much if yr claiming that "footie" is an engish owned term. Like you say, it's used by fans of just about any ball sport using the feet to describe their game in their own region. I have to say though, having spent time all round Oz I've generally only heard it used to descibe Aussie Rules or rugby League. soccer is always called just that or "wogball" by the older Aussies. if you say footie in Victoria, Sth Aust, West Aust or Nth Territory it only means one thing - Aussie rules. In NSW & Queensland it's most likely rugby League.
Over here of course it refers to watching a bunch of overpaid hairdressers fainting at the slightest contact and getting miraculous healing once the magic whistle blows.
Hijack over.. back to you lovers of the local game

Football, for a start its what it says on the packet FOOTball, that means NO hands.
Then there is the small matter of the pitch must have corners,oh and the ball must be round.
Now why didnt all you others just call your sports 'HANDball'

Fair point on the FOOT bit and most disposals in Aussie rues are off the boot (Rugby codes have more kicks in the teeth than kicks on the ball I guess!) But WTF made you God of sport to say what shape the ball & playing pitch must be??? Take off the tunnel specs my friend - there is a world outside soccer you know! xxxx

As I live in Manchester, don't have a cockney accent, am not called 'Denzil' or drive up the M5 for home games, I don't have a tendency to Glory Hunt or sit in an armchair and bitch that the prawn sarnies aren't upto scratch, and buy twenty three different shirts each season (not including the compulsary let's make a new shirt as we can comemorate our club's 3rd name change shirt).
I don't like stupid poetry involving 'Seaguls' and certainly don't give a sh*t anymore if we loose (after 30 years as a season ticet holder I am rather used to it these days) hehe
That said I HATE all things red (F40's and Ducati's excluded) so there was only ever one choice.

Ohhhhhh Man City....The ONLY football team to come from Manchester. thumbup

When we beat you in May I didn't anticipate we would both be in a relegation battle.

Collapsed on the way home from watching helping Scum on their way down with a 4-1 thrashing. I'd got off my sick-bed to watch the game, and Mrs Torch had to come and collect me. Worth it.

Support Pompey, was born here, live here, and share a season ticket.

Play Up Pompey.

Softspot for Hull as I went to Uni there, and Villa as my family is from Brum and I had to take a side.

Rangers - Born into a Rangers supporting family. Despite the 'sectarian divide' in Scotland, I was lucky enough not to be infected. This even led to me playing for Celtic's youth team at the age of 15. I grew up during the fantastic 9-in-a-row era where Rangers' spending could match the bigger teams in Europe, so the recent downsizing and lack of success has been a bit of a shock to the system for me!

you are not alone.

I was a season ticket holder there for about 10 years but gave it up about 3 years ago.
Have been an avid supporter since mid 80s and can boast that during the 2000/2001 season (i think it was) i only missed 4 games all season (league and cup, attended all home but missed away) and i was living just across the Selhurst Rd at the time.
Also spent some interesting nights camped out in Sainsburys car park for cup final tickets etc.
Glyn.

Proper football fans, like myself. Know the meaning of losing Still, a division higher than BcensoredN and McensoredL, so not too bad then

I was sat in the office listening to that game (was working weekends on a late project). After the final whistle went up to the Milton Keynes shopping centre and bumped into a guy wearing his Pompey shirt with pride!!
