Just got back from St Anton, panic over snow wise I think for the moment! Same for 3 valleys according to some friends who live there. Got another few weeks guiding over easter holidays not sure what resort yet though but I can't wait - may squeeze in another week if i can get a good deal, seen 299 fully catered in Meribel, sounds too good to refuse!!

Have fun everyone wherever you go!

Most grown ups avoid taking snow sports holidays during half term.

Sharief. You should try Snowboarding, look at me, I am the goddess of the snow, even when I land on my head and look like a tw@t, the sun still shines out of my ass!

Off skiing to Vail in the morning for a week, flying from Gatwick via Dallas of all places to Denver. Got a reasonable deal too for a catered chalet with Skiworld. Season snow to date about 14ft! Weather looks like daily snow showers and fresh snow every day, so we'll be mostly in the powder of the back bowls, but hope to pop over to Beaver Creak again (the place with conveyors to aid the hard of walking and heated hand rails on the steps in resort!) and Breck.

With regards to Whislter, I tried to book again (had a brilliant time a couple of years ago) as it's got such a fantastic night life/pub culture, so much more like the best European resorts and has some great snow/mountains. We did a couple of days with Extremely Canadian - awesome! Didn't get in 'cos the wife wanted a weekend to think about it and the following Monday the flight had gone!

Might try and post some snaps when I get back

just returned from 7 days boarding at Velkaraca "Snow Paradise" in Nth Slovakia - awesome fun. I'm only a novice boarder but around 60cm of cover & bearable -2 to +2 temps made for lots of fun. Typical "cleared forest" at relative low elavations (650-1200m) but good powder fun both on the main runs & through the trees - highly recommended if you dont need the big nightlife scene after a full day (and 4 hour floodlit sessions after dark too!) on the white stuff. www.velkaraca.sk

You see, snowboarders are tough. A mere broken leg is not enough to stop us.

Yeah I didn't see a single adult while I was there. Anyway, it was alright, but very very icy and it rained non-stop for two days. I got my Etoile de Bronze, though, so I don't care.

Sharif - sorry I tripped and fell into the Chasm of Sar whilst I was on my carefully planned, half term hell avoiding, snow holiday. I was clearly so deep my point became lost.
Did your parents manage to have a fun time though?
