The keeper had no intention of doing anything other than taking his time... the ball was firmly clutched to his chest!

No chance, a 2 second wait for the penalty area to clear then he was sending that downfield to whichever AZ player would have been there. Given would still have been at the halfway line. All irrelevant now anyway.

sleep envy try to keep a civil tongue in your head.

Emre see you later. Much later.
Carr, bye-bye. As in, off.
Huntington please leave now, destination Cardiff. And we'll have Chopra back now, please.
I am very, very disappointed. Sleep envy please bear this in mind.
Sodding, bloody hell.

banghead banghead banghead

Out classed in the management, out classed in the tactics, out classed in the application on the pitch. Out and deservedly so. Shocking performance.

I have two big worries for next season - that when we're struggling we still resort to a Shearer-required lob it high and long when we've got shorties like Martins & Owen as first choice, and secondly, somebody please provide Given a defence worth marshalling.

Gutted for them. Fancied them to go really far.

They desperately need some decent defenders and i think even a decent premiership finish is not guranteed until they do. The youngsters who have come in have done well, but i hope Roeder's given some money in the summer and spends it wisely.

I wish I'd put a fiver on my prediction yesterday.

It happens all to often with them..
They think the match is in the bag, they sit back and dont give 100% and end up beaten. The best play came in the last 5 mins. Why couldnt they just do that for the whole game.

Where are Milner and Charlie N anyway? At least they can use both feet unlike the overrated Damien Duff.

Injured I believe, Charlie is on his way back, he played the last 10 minutes or so last night.

Nothing wrong with Milner.
He's one of their best players at the minute (IMO) and surely he would have been a better option than Emre.

I hate to say it but after a year in management Glen is looking to be the one to blame now!

I have to say I disagree there, I think he has done well with the staff he has and especially the defence he has, he must be so so grateful for Given (and he's just signed another 5 year deal bounce). He's also done well with the youngsters and bringing them through Ramage and Taylor expecially. If Milner was fit then he should have played.

No, he's great. Bramble's a bit cack, but Glen reportedly has the support of all the players and demonstrably that of the vast majority of the fans. He also has the respect of just about everyone other than you...But then your post indicates that you're not a particularly respectful person, does it not?

I think he's crap. I think Newcastle are pretty poor, and I think their board are a joke.

Roeder has steadied a sinking ship, he's made some shrewd signings that have paid off so far, and has done it without some of the huge financial muscle Shepherd has afforded his predeccessors. He's also done it with considerable injuries. He has however been shown to be tacticaly naive on some occasions. If he's half the coach he thinks he is, he will have learnt from those defeats.
I don't think(touch wood!) Reoder would ever get us relegated, but I don't think he'll win us any silverware.
What would you prefer - an out of control changing room of flair and arrogant youth with Sir Bobby, a depressed, injury-struck Souness wreck with Bramble & Boumsong the mainstay of defence, or a comfortable but never glory acheiving squad with Roeder?
