Not sure his debut warranted being picked again, then again not many performances last night warranted being picked ever again anyway.
The ball was almost fully over the line before Nugent kicked it and it was still moving so the speculation as to the sticking on the line is a moot point. Good on the lad though - a goal to the good on your debut is a good confidence boast and the ribbing he'll get from the lads will make up for the poaching anyway.

I thought nugent looked ok, got a way to go before he can be considered a regular, but good on him for smashing it in. At least hes over 5 foot unlike the rest of strikers we had last night. Hate to say it, but we miss Crouch.

TBH Rooney - 16 competitive games without a goal and is easy to wind up (as all international teams seem to be able to achieve). I'd put him on the bench. Give Nugent and Defoe a chance (that pairing sorted out the third goal last night ) from the off.
