Thinking of any races in particular?

I've done a couple of duathlons (assuming you mean run-bike-run). The first transition (run-bike) was fine but the second one (bike-run) was a nightmare - jelly legs and felt like they weren't working at all!

No, not many, 2 or 3 I guess. I'm a runner mainly and can cycle OK so have done a couple just for fun.

Biking not that fast, 15-20mph I guess (on road when working hard). Running quite fast (half-marathon best of 67:33, road 5k best of 14:54 and mile best of 4:12)

Good times! fast running pace

25 mph bike and 38ish 10k, that mile @ 4.12 is rapid!!, how's the kness? :-)

That was a track mile in the middle of my best track season. Would be nice to get there again (ran 4:16 last year).

Been running racing for 19 years on road, track and cross country and never had any knee problems. I do try to do the majority of my training miles off road though. Tends to be a lot easier on the knees, but harder on the ankles (holes, tree roots, rocks, etc).

Good speed!

Tend to use the treadmill as gives a softer impact on joints.

Also into rowing, can do mid 6min 2k's, stunning workout really hard graft.

How serious is your running? been running from age 10 now 32 :-) into long distance rather than sprint

Blimey these are good times. I've only been running a year and have done 38 for 10k and 1.25 for a half, but I can't imagine getting fown to 67 mins for a half!! Well done, you're nearly top 10 in the UK

I used to do Triathlon quite seriously and would do a few Duathlons in the spring for "training". They were full of people like you that could actually run fast. I hated them - the races I mean.

See here: http://www1.powerof10.info/

I'm pretty serious about the running (or was), been racing at National level for the last 10 years. In terms of my personal rankings, I've been specialising in the Steeplechase for the last few years (3k on the track with 28 dry barriers and 7 water jumps). My best was in 1999 when I ran 8:54.7 for 5th in the National Champs (also trial for worlds). 2005 I was very consistent and ran sub-9:10 many times with a best of 9:02 for 11th in the National Champs. Also was ranked 95th in the world at the end of August 2005. I was very pleased with the 67:33 in the Bath Half that year as all my training was focused on 3k-5k pace, not 21.1k!

Enough blowing my own trumpet. You can find my rankings for the last couple of years on the above website too. 2005 - good, 2006 - bad If anyone needs running advice, you're welcome to email me.
