A short 'long' run of 10 miles @ 8min/mile today after the Portsmouth Coastal Marathon last Sunday, a 6 miler on Tuesday, parkrun on xmas day and parkrun yesterday (21ish each).
Gets a bit worrying when your long run seems short but the London training starts second week of Jan so cant slack off now.

I have entered the Colchester half, 29th March.
Purely because I'm a yoyo runner, I'll go mad for 6 weeks and then not run for 4 weeks. I'm determined to continue with this and a race ensures I will. Now have the clock ticking down as my screen saver.
1hr 50 is the target, 11 miles in 1hr 37 is best so far, but I've just had 4 weeks off so got to slog back into it.

I'm on a bit of running block at the mo' - me and a mate have entered the Paris marathon (in April) for a bit of winter focus!
12k this evening as the sun went down in what felt (in my 3/4 lengths!) like an absolutely Baltic -4°C!
Fab run though and made all the better with a new headtorch which was an absolute game changer! Nothing too fancy, but extremely lightweight (like you wouldn't know it was there), more than bright enough to be seen with, lit up an area 10m x 3m infront of me (I guess) and there was no more faffing around in the dark trying to find the buttons to illuminate my GPS watch to see my HRM/pace - highly recommended bit of kit

Had an op in June and had 6 weeks off. In the last 4.5 months I've run 535 miles (Averaged: 28 miles per week/ 4 miles per day).
Hit 988 miles 2014 YTD today, so only a short push to the 1,000!
Passed the 1,000 miles in 2014 last Tuesday. Hit 988 miles 2014 YTD today, so only a short push to the 1,000!
Haven't run since, so heading out for a quick 8 this morning.

I'm not pre-entering any races this year. I've just wasted my money in recent times by having to pull-out beforehand.
I feel a bit like this, I like the LDWA marathons which are usually under a tenner.Managed 1100 miles in 2015, but I am starting to realise its is about quality not quantity. Lots of core work instead.

Anyone here ever use beetroot powder?
Any flavourless versions out there?
Not tried the powder, but have had the beetroot concentrate before which you dilute with water. Really disagreed with me and let's just say I disappeared to the smallest room of the house more frequently whilst drinking the stuff.Any flavourless versions out there?
I do now use the beetroot juice shots - still taste vile but they're small enough that you can knock them back quickly. No stomach problems and only ever use them before race situations.
