Was a good fight, Conor was never going to match him on the ground, annoying to get caught in that again, it looked to be more of a chin wrap/neck crank.

Aftermath shouldn't of happened, Not sure what Dana is going to do with Khabib here now. Conor vs Diaz 3? Ferguson v Khabib?

Ferguson fight was good as well enjoyed that.

Khabib took Conor's punches and asked for more. Khabib won three to es tonight

He won on the ground, he won on his feet and he shut Conor the fk up. My happiest sporting memory

Why? Because this was much more than a UFC victory. Conor is looked up to by kids, adolescents and adults alike. His behaviour has been atrocious. Inciting racial tension, insulting khabib's family, offering booze to someone he knows is Muslim and other things. Khabib showed the world how you should behave

The events after the fight were not good. However, no worse than Conor did at the coach. Khabib and all his boys should get no more sanction than Conor. Otherwise it stinks of white privilege.

Will Conor exercise his rematch clause? Lol. Absolutely not

My thoughts exactly. There was always going to be repercussions(sp) after the fight, both fighters said that whoever wins, it isn't over. McGregor just did his usual mouthing to someone who wasn't just going to brush it off this time. His racist, filthy and insulting gob is the reason this happened yet I've been sat watching the post fight press conference and Dana white is still licking his lap dogs ring piece. The ufc even used conors antics smashing up a bus as part of the promotion. Madness. No doubt it sold PPV's and tickets but promoting that behavior isnt really cricket.

It's a shame really as khabib put on a dominating performance against who was supposedly the one of the best fighters in the ufc. I would have played it differently but there again, couldn't fight my way out of a wet paper bag.hehe

A comprehensive beating, all ends up. Someday all loudmouths meet someone who will shut their mouths for them. Conor met his last night.

There needs to be serious repercussions for the Khabib team there.

While all the thuggery and antics is mostly showmanship for McGregor (I am sure there was no real intent to hurt anybody with the dolly throwing at the bus - cameras were there for a reason) what Khabib and his entourage did there was disgusting. He didn't even let go when McGregor tapped out, it was only when the ref physically manhandled his hands off that he relented.

Khabib jumping into the crowd can be put down as fun and games but his henchmen attacking a beaten and disoriented opponent should mean a prison sentence for the men that did it - that is just plain dangerous.

Khabib had clearly had enough of the insults but it's a shame that post fight events will overshadow a well deserved win. McGreggor hardly got a look in during the fight and was properly beaten. The slap from Khabib was a good touch.

I’ve just watched a video that seems to show that Conor wasn’t entirely innocent in the commotion, it looks to me like he threw the first punch at one of khabibs team. I’m not saying any of it is right but khabibs team aren’t solely to blame. I do agree though, anyone who threw a punch after the bell should face the consequences.

As DC said, khabib takes the insults personally, he’s from a completely different culture. Mcgregor needs to wind his neck in with the insults. Something like this was always going to happen.

Edited to add the video link. About 20 seconds in.

That guy in the red t-shirt sticker punches MacGregor from behind. Classy.

I think McGregor could see the attack coming and reacted - the video makes that clear I think.

I think there's elements to both sides here.
Dana wants the UFC to be the WWE, so he uses the same promo beats, and the UFC is an AMerican culture.
Kabib comes from a different culture, but he's now in the UFC. He should remember that. Having said that, the likes of mcgregor should take into account they're dealing with someone who isn't reading from the same script, or at least, he can see the dialogue but not the subtext and stage directions.
having said that, the ufc shouldn't be a circus, but it shouldn't throw the baby out with thebathwater and get rid of all razzamatazz, it's a fine line.
