Well, I paid up and I feel that I got my money's worth. 5 hours of good action, and better value than a boxing ppv.

The main event, just wow! Khabib just mauled Poirier, he's a monster. I've never seen a guy so deflated after a loss

The lightweight division is just stacked with great fighters atm.

Ridiculous judging in the Barboza fight, one of the judges must have been pissed.

Agree about the Barboza decision. I don't understand that.

Main event: Poirier looked like a desperate man and like he wanted to throw in the towel. In Round 2 he came out wildly swinging his haymakers and then he went for the guillotine and put all his effort into it. After the failed guillotine attempt he gave up and gave Khabib his neck (imo)

I agree. completely with all of this, he did look distraught at the end of the fight. I think he knows he let himself down. I thought it strange that Khabib bailed on a bulldog/neck crank at least once if not twice earlier on in the fight.

Question is

Can anybody stop Khabib?

On Friday night watched one of my mates Tom Mearns win at Cage Warriors, some of you might remember Tom for breaking his elbow live at Bellator 200 in London.

Khabib did look rocked at one point. If someone was able to keep the distance then they have a chance.

Keep away from the fence, it's key for khabib, if your back is close he's gonna take you down..
Easier said than done but that has to be your main mindset when facing khabib..

He fakes a swing and is so fast to get to the legs, once he does it's curtains. Can't help thinking his head might meet a knee one of these days when going for the legs.

I am heading to UFC 244. Diaz and Mazvidal was always a cert for me to go and watch.

I did start a thread but maybe you guys may know?

Just trying to get my itinerary setup with a few mates for a week long stay and so we can catch the fights at MSG.

Is it as if easy as signing up on the official UFC site and getting the tickets or is a presale code the best way?

Cheers,
Hanns

Edit: How Barboza decision was unbelievable. And Khabib although he may be boring to watch is a phenom.

This was my opinion too. If you noticed earlier in the fight, Poirier constanly had his chin down so Khabib couldn't get his arm under the chin, but in the last few seconds of the fight, he was breathing really heavily, Khabib was on his back and he just lifted his head up as though he'd given up and let him get his neck.

i disagree that Khabib is boring to watch. Once he has a hold of his opponent, he is constantly changing his pressure points and moving his weight. It is highest order grappling where he's completely in control of his opponent.

As somebody who trains Jiu Jitsu I can understand what he is doing but once has them pinned its boring to watch and lets face it 99% of UFC paying fans dont want to watch a man get pinned, they want to watch people slogging it out.

Pereira blames weight cut for loss and not his stupid break dancing antics.

His missed weight cut and then being beaten by a 155'er.

MVP is a touch of class. He's fantastic to watch; either to see him pull off what he did last night or get GKTFO, you can't really lose.

Work colleague of mine Richard Mearns picked up another win last night on Contenders, his twin brother Tom won on Cage Warriors earlier in the month.

MVP was the epitomy of "chat st, get hit". I didn't care for Big Dan's point deduction or what he allegedly said afterwards....

All in all a good weekend for the sport, a few good events, not many dull fights.
