How did you come to the thinking that Masvidal is past his best?

he’s being doing this for years now, the last few fights he’s lost and now he’s got some money he’s looks more interested in his drink company , his own mma promotion , dont get me wrong , i love the bloke ,proper street fighter but i hope this isn’t his last fight , definitely not to his ‘sworn enemy’

i think if colby loses he can still be relevant and will have be more humble with his trash talking , but that’s his selling point

Masvidal has no chance at all. Colby is too well-rounded and only person he's lost to in the last 6 years is Usman.

Masvidal is a tough guy but his record really isn't that great. In recent times he had 1 KO vs Till, quick KO against Askren, the joke BMF fight against Diaz who is past it which managed to propel him to some title shots where he had no chance.

Lost against the champ twice in his recent fights. When he starts losing against nobody's then i think it will be fair then to say he's past it.

I'm a fan of Masvidal but I think Covington will win quite easily. He run Usman a lot closer than most, and did much better than Masvidal did.

I'd love to be proved wrong as I can't stand the persona Covington puts on with the MAGA crap.

I know. As I understand it, he was close to being cut until he started being obnoxious. Basically because no one cared if he won or lost, or was interested in his fights.

Funny old game.

This seems to be an instance of non-kayfabe Covington: https://streamable.com/ok5sk

Sums it up for me as well.

Ultimately it sums up the UFC at the moment. It’s a meh fight that no one really cares about.

Usman vs Edwards is looking likely to happen in July.

No surprises with the main event this weekend. Jorge is a tough guy but didn't stand much of a chance. He had a good moment in Round 4 but Colby didn't look especially troubled and Jorge was too fatigued by then.

colbys stuck now, he can only face usman again and will lose again to him ,
usmans beaten him twice so no need to face him again.
without all the hype and trash talk colbys really is a boring fighter, probably technically very good but that doesn’t get the ppv sales .

masvidal has signed a new contract with dana before colby fight on big money so he will be back ,
mc gregor vs masvidal would be good , two older punchers who can only do 3 rounds

I have no interest in McGregor, he's a one-dimensional dinosaur with a big mouth. He still seems to draw the crowds and manages to keep himself in the headlines.

Cain Velasquez: I don't think we'll be seeing him again in the UFC.

In the 26 years I’ve followed MMA I can’t think of a less exciting time than now. At least when the UFC had its lean years banned from cable in the late ‘90s we had PRIDE.

The sport urgently needs an injection of star power and compelling rivalries.

He wasn't going to be back in UFC again anyway. His body cannot standup to the level of training he went through.
However sad situation for him to be in.

Anyone going to the O2 on Saturday?

Can’t wait to go, it’s been ages, should be great atmosphere and card is good for UK too.

Aye, really looking forward to it. I've been to big boxing matches but only local MMA shows. Will it be family friendly, relatively speaking?

Should be ok, but a lot depends on where you are seated and who else is seated nearby.

Yes, I suppose so - same as many different events it's the luck of the draw. We're midway in the lower tier. Really exited though, can't wait.

Should be a good position, have sat roughly there before. You tend to rely on the screens for the finer detail around the technical ground work. My mate got excited and booked us all floor tickets pretty much cage side, some kind of elevation is usually better viewing, so let’s see!
