I read that Diaz wanted the fight.
My 'criminal' remark was aimed at the UFC who should not be allowing mismatches like this. They have a responsibility to their fighters.P. ONeill said:

Paddy the baddy was impressive this evening. The band wagon continues.
I’m not sure how UFC works, but he lost the first round. Once he got yer mans arm it was night night.Would Paddy and McGregor be at the same level? I’d love to see him end McGregor.
Decent, entertaining fighter but nowhere near the best I don't think.

It's not even like the co-main event was a good one either.
English fans really get a rough deal with the fights we get.
I'd agree this time round was pretty poor, but we were lucky enough to go to the last one in London earlier in the year and almost every fight on the card (Gunnar Nelson apart) was a great spectacle. English fans really get a rough deal with the fights we get.

I get it...money talks and they want to do the big fights in USA or places willing to fork out for it.

TBF that bout has to be hastily changed after Darren Till pulled out. You'd have had Paddy, Molly, Till and Aspinall all on the same card for a proper British affair if the originally scheduled bouts had taken place. Just a lot of bad luck. English fans really get a rough deal with the fights we get.

I'm not sure why the UK cards have to be stacked full of British fighters who (let's be honest here) are second-tier fighters if we're being generous. Maybe Aspinall is a top heavyweight but we missed our chance to find out last night.

Because it's what the majority of British fans want and will pay for. To compare to boxing, you could put Crawford Vs Spence on in London and it'd have significantly less interest than Benn Vs Eubank Jr.
Americans don't have that same football fan, tribal culture that we have.

I caught some of the prelims last night and Alves / Dober was an entertaining bout. Alves did 2 backflips in the changing room before the bout. 1 on entering the cage and by end of Round 1 was gassed out from his explosive moves.
Abdullah Ahmady bout also looked to be an entertaining one but I drifted off. Going to see if I can find a video of it but there's less attention to uploading the prelim fights.
Anthony Smith fight started off with a boring first round. Seems like he started Round 2 with a busted ankle / broken leg (Smith's a tough guy) and then got finished.
Derrick Lewis fight turned into a slug-fest and Sergei's punches barely landed. The stoppage may have been a bit premature but Derrick wasn't exactly making a good case of protecting himself.
I haven't bothered watching Nunes fight as i'm not very interested in women's MMA but Pena's injury looked pretty gruesome.
