Caught up with the Main Event. Edwards had a very promising round 1 and then got smothered and outstruck the rest of the bout.

It was really frustrating that Leon had some success with striking but wasn't letting his hands go. The wonder kick in the dying minute which put Usman out cold was crazy and totally unexpected and a great moment undoubtedly.

I don't see Leon hanging on to that belt for very long though.

Great comments from his corner at the end of the 4th! Compare and contrast to the comments in AJ's corner in the boxing earlier.

Can't really argue with a KO like that.

My money is on Usman for the rematch. Would definitely be more careful and take nothing for granted. I reckon he'll have a heavy wrestling base for the trilogy.

Aye, the only way I can see Rocky winning the trilogy is to let his hands go much, much more.

You may be right guys but Edwards was great in the first round. The take down, the body triangle and taking control the way he did showed how improved he was. He'd fought his way back to his feet so many times and put in some cracking shots, but it was clear he was behind. The reactions when he knocked Usman out were priceless though. All in I thought it was a great fight and it was good to see Edwards didn't dive in and land any more shots after the KO.

i had a feeling edwards would win but not like that! the whole division now will be offering him deals to fight now, the only chance colby and masvidal will get to the belt, if usman has re match and wins ,which he will, then the division will be a shut down again

Masvidal isn't even in the picture. The hype train has gone off into the distance for him.

I see Tony Ferguson is moving up to welterweight. It doesn't really make much sense.... He's on a 4 fight losing streak and then goes and moves up a weight class to fight even bigger, stronger guys who carry the weight more naturally. The best move would be retirement as I don't see it going well for him.

It would be fun to see Masvidal get served his own three piece and a soda though.

UFC 279 re-shuffle WTF?!

Must admit Nate Vs Tony is a much better fight.

I bet Dana was absolutely bouncing chimaev missed weight, looks like the card was stacked with similar weights as they expected Diaz to be the one to miss weight.

Diaz Ferguson should be a cracker though.

Chimaev I really don’t know how you miss weight by half a stone

That's why Nate kicked off behind the weigh in, Chimaev didn't even bother trying to make weight if he comes in half a stone over. Utterly disrespectful.

In a way I'm glad because I think Nate would have taken a dreadful beating and he's to proud/hard/stupid to quit himself. Ferguson is a much more even fight.

Unlikely, I know, but I'm rooting for Kevin to talk Chimaev to death and grab a win.

The Diaz fight is intriguing now as he’s a fit dude.the question marks were over whether he’d bothered to train for the fight as we all knew he just wanted out of the UFC. He was the one people would have expected to miss weight. If he has trained properly for this fight then a 5 round fight may be all wrong for Ferguson.

I’d also love for Holland to do that. I hate fighters who miss weight and especially ones who miss it by so much so Holland ruining the golden boy would be awesome

The Chimaev business doesn't set a good precedent. He totally missed weight and should have been off the card entirely.

Instead he got co-main event and still got paid for not meeting his end of the bargain. The fans bought tickets based on the card and then the day before the UFC switch everything around. Stuff does happen before a fight but imagine if they did this in boxing and a big fight got switched in the last minute - they'd have to issue refunds.

Fortunate for Nate though as he'd have got murdered.

And then post fight interview said he didn't give a st he missed weight .

His ground games awesome though just totally threw the other guy around and flowed over him like water.
