Just got round to watching the main card.

Agree re Pavlovich. Excellent range control and clinical accuracy. He's watched Ta's previous 'all guns blazing' defence and let him have his wild swings which leave him open.

Shame about Kevin Holland getting injured so early. Not surprised though with the number of licks he blocked with that hand.

Lots of criticism of the judging last night.
I thought the paddy fight was close but don't see no real issue in him being awarded the win.
Till however is spent, unlikely to ever challenge the top 5 in his division. If he continues he's willing to get beat up and risk brain damage for money. Very sad as initially I thought he showed promise.
Weird main event at the end with the belt.

Looks like there’s a consensus that Jared was robbed. Especially doesn’t look good after Paddy’s interview with Dana recently and all the drama following it.

Paddy’s villain arc starts now

It's all gone a bit too much WWF for me.

I watched the prelims and saw 18 year old Raul Rosas Jr. He put in a polished performance and is one to watch for future

Darren Till gave a ballsy performance. Honestly thought it could have been stopped in first round and I scored it 10-8. Till was effectively a punch bag for 4 minutes. Second round Till won so if Till won the third it should have been a draw. I can't say that i'm impressed with Till and he talks a big game but doesn't deliver. Till looked like he gave up in the final round and tapped very quickly. 5 losses out of the last 6 fights - he's got to be cut from the UFC soon.

Paddy was lucky to win his fight. He got clipped too many times and will be found out. I had it one round each and final round Paddy spent most of it pressed against the fence and Gordon didn't do much with the position.

Blachowicz took Ankalaev's legs apart. I don't think Jan did enough to draw the fight and was suprised the judges ruled as they did. Ankalaev clearly won rounds 4 and 5 and i'm sure he won at least one of the first 3 rounds.

I'd agree with that, Paddy was lucky to get the W but I don't think it was the outright robbery many are claiming

Dana has always pushed for fights to finish and UFC judges don't seem to favour TDs and position over pushing a fight and damage

Whilst lying on a guy for a full round or pressing him against the fence is seen as control. The judges are starting to score it differently.

I've seen guys on their back clearly winning the fight from the bottom using elbows and trying for submissions but the judges usually favour the guy on top.

Bottom line: Paddy is part of the UFC hype train and if there's a close decision then Dana's guy gets the W.

I agree with the above.

Paddy was a lucky boy but it wasn;t 'robbery'.
Surprised that Blachovicz let up on the legs in R3/R4. Maybe his shins were getting sore. Ankalaev was a graceless fool.

RIP.

I'll never forget his fight with Griffin. One of the best.

Both of his fights with Griffin were incredible and he was in other wars.

I was surprised to see news of 18 year old Victoria Lee's death. I didn't watch much ONE but caught some of her clips on YouTube.

Francis Ngannou has cut ties with UFC. It leaves the door open for Jon Jones to fight for the title in March. I guess we may never really know how good Francis became. Maybe we'll get a Tyson Fury / Ngannou boxing match.

It's a weird one. Dana claims to have offered to make him he highest paid fighter on the roster.

The reality is that Francis would probably make more fighting Tyson Fury once than getting his body beaten up in the UFC for the next 5 years. Or even go down the WWE path and get paid more.

Dana isn't exactly known for paying fighters well.

Dana has amazing PR. To have deflected heat from slapping his wife is PR genius. I was expecting him to get a much harder time than he's had

I wouldn't believe Dana White on most things.

Wasn't there a tweet or quote where it was said he was being treated like an employee with restrictions and low pay, and a contractor with no benefits. I imagine a highly risky contract was put in front of him which meant he'd have to gamble his final money making years with no guarantee of pay.

He said that they offered him more money than any heavyweight in the past. They offered him more money than they ever offered Brock Lesnar.

He said they had been trying to negotiate with Ngannou for two years but never got anywhere. Dana thinks that Francis believes he can get more money fighting lesser opponents elsewhere.

Not felt remotely hyped for a UFC in a while, but the main event tomorrow is the most interesting fight they've put on in a *long* time.

Yeah. Hyped. Together, it's a 33 winning fight streak and probably the biggest fight in 20 years statistically?

Volk is durable, smart, really quick and strong. It still feels like we haven't seen the best of Makhachev. I favour Makhachev but it's going to be super interesting.
