Why? Are you Swiss or a ?
No i'm English. So sad to see people supporting one of the biggest cocks in sport with the personality of a dead fish, just because he's 'British'.I'm sure if they all knew him as well as you do then they'd obviously overlook his ability and just support someone else who you think is a bit less cockish?
Murray...Henman mk 2...this is a joke right?
Murray is miles better than Henman, and if he had met anybody else in the final he would have won.
But he played the BEST PLAYER EVER to play the game. And he was on form. No chance.
Ok, he had 2 chances to take the 3rd set, but we've seen what happens when Federer loses a set in a final.....he comes out even stronger in the next set. Only exception to that has been Nadal.....and he was something special as well...until his knee problems kicked in.
You can count on one hand the amount of people who have won a Grandslam in Federer's reign....and still have a finger or two to spare......so it's not like Murray is alone on this.
The ONLY person to beat Federer in a final, has been Nadal.
Murray will win a Grandslam. He, and everybody else, just need to hope that he's not playing Fed in the final

Ive gotta say, folk are being a bit harsh on the Scottish whinger.
He just ran into probably the best player of the game there has been and he was playing very near his best. Who would have stood a chance of taking Fed to 5 sets on that performance?
Laver.
Borg.
Mac.
Edberg.
Becker.
Lendl.
Samprass.
Agassi.
Nadal.
That is a pretty bloody select list and Im not sure Lendl, Becker and Edberg would have been able to defeat Fed in that kind of mood.
Murray is almost the very best in the world, he just isnt one of the very best there has ever been. Cut the kid some slack.

Well as Agassi and Samprass have both said they couldn't keep up with a modern game you can scrap the entire list excpet Nadal. He just ran into probably the best player of the game there has been and he was playing very near his best. i feel so sorry for murray, he makes one comment about FOOTBALL, which was almost certainly tongue in cheek, and everyone uses it as an excuse to hate him and mock him when he can only finish runner up in a majot tournament....
my only question is how these people who get such a kick from hating him get their knuckles from the floor to their desk (unless of course they keep the keyboard on the floor?)

To beat Federer, not only does the opponent need to play superbly, but Federer also needs to have a bad day. If the opponent is playing superbly and yet Federer plays superbly as well, then it is likely that Federer will still win - there tends to be one of those players a generation, and everyone else has the misfortune of it not being them.

Ive little doubt of that list, had:
Borg
Mac
Laver
Samprass
Agassi
been born into the Fed generation then they would have attained his standards, each of them was as brilliant as you could be. Somewhat interestingly you have opposing characters there, taking out Laver as he had pretty much no equal. Borg was the all-encompassing Master who folk regarded as playing close to a perfect game...and it took some angst ridden genius closer to tortured-soul Renaissance Grand Master than to a tennis player to beat him. Samprass was the perfectionist machine who could play or grind anyone else into the dust and the only guy who could stand against him on his own terms was the gun slinging kid who had plumbed the depths and heights of his own soul. Two perfectionists and 2 mavericks.

I hope Federer kicks his miserable scottish ass into oblivion!
well I can agree that he is a miserable git, deeply unattactive in all ways EXCEPT he is a very good tennis player indeed (if a little stiff and lacking flow and way too defensive), he has just moved up to 3 in the world thanks to that performance now he is British and yes I also watch tennis without really thinking about where the players come from, but sport does have an effect on the national psyche, so it would be great for this nation to actually have a grand slam winner, in the same way it would be great if we win the world cup again
but as long as the great man is still around everyone will struggle to win grand slams
eta the game needs a certain man back to full fitness as he is the only man to have got under Feder's skin

and don't get me started on his 'entourage' and/or coaching team, pumping their fists at every point won like a bunch of baboons.
Murray needs a really good coach to sort his technique and head out, get rid of the hangers on and perhaps spend some time away from his predatory shark like mother as well, that would be a start

I agree with everything you said except that.Del Potro beat Federer in the final of the US Open last year.
(sorry for being pedantic)
Quite forgot about Del Potro.
We shouldn't though....since he is probably Murray's biggest obstacle, or will be in the coming years.

In the cold light of day, Murray shouldn't be overly concerned about missing out on a Slam this time - he proved that he's adaptable and is still learning. As long as he can avoid Nadal's worrying physical fragility, I'd put money on him winning several Slam events - certainly Australia and US. Wimbledon and Paris are different beasts, and given a bit of luck there's no reason why he couldn't nail those either.

That damn entourage. All 4 of them, although 1 has never cheered ever. So that is 2 people that celebrate every point won, a bit like the rest of the crowd.Murray needs a really good coach to sort his technique and head out, get rid of the hangers on and perhaps spend some time away from his predatory shark like mother as well, that would be a start

Its not really an entourage is it?

that's another thing, how does Federer remain so fit and injury free, he certainly does not look like a superfit mean machine yet outlasts them all with energy to spare?
