i'm expecting BIG things from lomachenko...awesome talent!

......but in other (more important) news..... after hovering on the O2 arena site all morning the tickets for wlad/kubrat finally went on sale midday today.......RINGSIDE BABY!!!!!! i'm literally ten feet from the ring with a vip package so I get fed and watered as well!! the fifteen year wait is almost over.....boom!
My missus and I play a game when watching the boxing called family, gangster or sportsman, it basically involves picking out people who are sat ringside and guessing whether they're family, gangster or sportsman. You've thrown a spanner into that pass time!
Not that I want to make you paranoid or anything, tusc, but you do realise we'll all be keeping our eyes peeled for you...so I'd suggest you do all your nose-picking and bcensoredlock-scratching well in advance of taking your seat! hehe

That said...do you still have the black eye you had in that photo you posted on here a year or two back?! Without that, I'm not sure how we'll be able to spot you...!

no black eyes or any other fight related injuries sorry chaps.......i'll have to wear a big daffodil or something in my lapel for identification.....a bit like a blind date scenario! these 12-14 hour days have meant my comeback has been postponed for a while!
I've been training once a week with an mma guy called lee chadwick "the butcher"(youtube him!, quite interesting...hops between mma and unlicensed boxing) at his gym near Liverpool airport......great training but i'm still only a month in and once a week isn't going to get me match fit in a hurry but it's cool to be back on the pads and stuff. I don't expect to be sparring fit for a while yet.....mind you I've got about ten weeks so you may be able to pick me out at the fight with a fked up face yet!!

Ah, so you're no longer training out of the Mathews gym then...was that because of the change in premises your business was going through a few months back? Have you got something in mind you're training for (i.e. another fight lined up)...?

yeah, it broke my heart to leave but although my new factory is only 4 miles from the old one I can't afford to crawl across town both ways and have an hour session in the middle. I just can't be out of the office for that long. Lee's gym is by the airport so is on the way home for me. once a week for now and a couple of times in the posers gym opposite work. that'll have to do for now!!
bit of a coincidence.....I was watching one of lee's fights on youtube and he was boxing on an unlicensed show by the promoter who's show I boxed on...... we had the same ref!

Yeah, I remember him! Solid chap wasn't he? Think I described him as looking like Brock Lesnar's big brother at the time...!

I remember commentating that I thought the ref would beat both of you at the same time.

Might be a a result of the knock-down but Burns is lacking a bit of snap...he's lacking his trademark sharpness.

korborov bored me to be honest. gamboa boxed well and to be honest I was expecting him to win by boxing his way in behind the jab the chucking loads from angles and darting back out.but I've got to tip my hat to Crawford, he dug his heels in and pulled off a great win!

Truthfully, I was surprised by Gamboa. Inactivity had led a few observers to conclude he would be rusty as hell and he looked a division, if not two, smaller than Crawford - but after the first round he seemed to be having the better of it until the knock-down in the fifth. He never quite recovered from that but even then managed to wobble Crawford not long before the KO. Actually, shouldn't really be surprised; while Crawford has the potential to be a future P4Per, he's still relatively young and I think showed he still has a bit of learning to do at the top level. Still, all in all, a very creditable win.
