Mayweather: "Amir Khan only did 4000 in his fight (ppv?), his name holds no weight. No one (outside boxing) knows who Amir Khan is"

Boxing has always blurred the lines between sport and show business, and non better than Mayweather. One minute he's asking the fans who he should fight next, they said Khan, he said no... Next minute he's saying no one knows who Khan is outside of boxing fans... I don't know if he's ducking the fight, there are other fights out there for him with top 10 guys which are legitimate but in the name of sport I think he should end his career with either Manny or Khan if he wants to truly remembered as a great.https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=UUI-Oq7oFGakzSz...
Sadly it is now a business.
It seems as though both camps are pushing for a Mayweather / Pacquiao fight but they are competing for the May 2nd date which falls on Cinco De Mayo weekend against the Cotto vs Canelo card which Khan wouldn't have the star power to compete against but Pacquiao would. So it's in his best interests to get Pacquiao in the ring to generate the most revenue.
My biggest gripe with all of this is that Arum doesn't want to move the Cotto / Canelo fight in favour of Pacquiao fighting Mayweather. Boxing is all about business and politics and sadly there's still 'beef' between Maweather and Arum. I gave up playing the blame game between either fighter ages ago as there's no way a pro athlete at the very top of his game is going to be scared to step in the ring against anyone. All the crap that goes on behind the scenes has put a stop to this and we only get fed bullst from either camp with regards to what actually happens.
With regards to his poll, Khan was miles ahead but only on Khan's own twitter poll. There were loads doing the rounds and Maidana was ahead overall. Was still a st way to choose an opponent though.

I think it was on Mayweather's own site, rather than Khan's (not saying there wasn't also one on Khan's twitter account though), but yes, there were other polls where Maidana was ahead. It seems as though both camps are pushing for a Mayweather / Pacquiao fight but they are competing for the May 2nd date which falls on Cinco De Mayo weekend against the Cotto vs Canelo card which Khan wouldn't have the star power to compete against but Pacquiao would. Hoping this might be a warm up fight as Stevenson needs a real test! Lets hope he wins to face Kovalev.
Stevenson vs. Sukhotskiy,
Apparently there is a high chance that it could happen. Kovalev facing Jean Pascal on March 14th. Stevenson saying his the only guy that could beat Kovalev.Stevenson vs. Sukhotskiy,
Fury and Eubank Jr to headline a big London o2 Arena show on February 28th. Guessing this could be Fury's final fight before taking on Klitschko for the world title.
Deontay Wilder-Stiverne also on January 17th. Lets see if Wilder is a great boxer, or whether Stiverne will expose his hype.
Think 2015 gonna be a big year for boxing.

Just came in to see if anyone had posted that, so bloody sad hopefully he'll get another title shot once he recovers..Those scum should be banged up for a long time. He's had two brain scans, which have both been clear of injury/damage, which is a huge relief. I understand they're still waiting to find out if his skull is fractured or has a hairline crack in it. He had surgery today on his ankle.
When relatives visited him last night the first things he said to them was he was gutted for all the people that had paid money to watch his fight in January, he felt like he'd let them down. That says a lot about his character.
The person that picked up that concrete slab and smashed it on his head is pure vile fking scum, and I hope karma catches up with them and they suffer a slow and painful death, they could have fking killed him.

Mayweather's calling out Paqman now when Paqman is nearing the end of his career, on a bit of a decline, and not the boxer he was from around 5-6 years ago, not taking nothing away from Paqman. I believe Mayweather ducked Paqman earlier on when he was at his prime. All the Olympic style drug test was another way of Mayweather to duck out. Did he ask any of his other opponents e.g. Maidana to take a drug test?
Just getting bored of Mayweather now. I HATE this obsession boxers have with their '0'. I'm not saying all of Paqman's opponents were world beaters, but at least he mixed it up multiple times with the likes of Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales and Marquez. All this flaunting his money is boring. The only person impressed by it is Adrien Broner Who's turned into a fat fker and is making money showing up at parties and nightclubs. Broner thought he was going to be the next big star, and did the dangerous thing of becoming a legend in his own mind. When he fought Maidana, he was truly exposed.

In that video I linked to, near end he makes a point of stating that as part of his legacy he wants to be known for the work he has done 'bringing drug testing to professional boxing'. He was saying how he was the one who has been pushing it so guess he makes all his opponents do it.Edited by Yazar on Wednesday 17th December 22:33

Imagine if Paqman v Mayweather happened around 2009 time. It would have been a massive, massive fight. Honestly I believe us boxing fans missed out on one of the all time great fights.

I think you're way off. It's pretty well documented that this fight has been talked about and had contracts drawn up several times since 2009 but it always fell through. Who's to blame, you and I certainly don't know but it's worth reading up on Arum and Floyd's past. The Cotto fight was talked about for years and didn't materialise yet the very month he left Top Rank (Arum's company) the fight was signed. Bradley has mentioned that he'll never fight Mayweather unless he was to leave Arum so it looks as though there's certainly truth behind these claims. Mayweather even had his prison sentence pushed back to fight and then Arum declared Pacquiao had been cut and needed time to heal and a new stadium built especially for the fight yet two weeks earlier he was campaigning for the Marquez fight the very same weekend. With regards to their opponents, Pacquiao has the better resume without a doubt but it's because he was fortunate enough to be in the same division at the right time against the Mexican trio as them 3 certainly boost his career and rightly so. Mayweather didn't take the easy path either, you really need to go back and take a look at his early career and watch him in there against seasoned champs that he took apart. As of late, their careers are pretty similar as they have many common opponents that Pacman defeated way more convincingly (with the exception of Marquez) and they've run out of guys to face hence Ortiz, Guerrero, Rios, Algieri, etc..
I too used to hold Floyd responsible and I found that easy as he plays the villain so well but I try not to let the media and his detractors cloud my opinion. Blame lies in both camps and they have denied us fans of a super fight where both fighters were in their prime.
So fingers crossed that these negotiations bring us the fight as judging by their last fights I think they've both declined in equal measure but they're still a class above the other guys out there.
Just to add, I hate Floyd's attitude outside the ring regardless of whether it's an act or not (It's obvious his PPV numbers are so high because people tune in to watch him lose) but in the ring his pure boxing ability and ring IQ is mesmerising.
