It was a mistimed tackle, he didn't try to hurt him but football is a contact sport & if you take physical challenges away from the game it'll ruin it. You never want to see anyone get injured like that but every person who kicks a ball knows it's a possibility & we all choose to play regardless, hope he gets better soon but to say Shawcross should be banned is a pathetic comment

Shawcross should be banned for life. Likewise that c@nt Martin Taylor - football would be a better game without these hatchet men. Thugs masquerading as football players.

I'd say Roy Keane was one of the few exceptions, at least he possessed football talent.

Ahaha yeah definetly, Wenger should apologise! How dare he question the challenge that broke one of his players legs, and where the offender was sent off?

The thing i dont understand is, all Wenger said afterwards is that these challenges arent acceptable. Poor Shawcross though, it's overshadowed his call up to the England squad, how will he ever cope?

Wenger didnt shout Shawcross down, call him a or say he should be banned for longer? So what does he have to apologise for?

It's quite ironic that Shawcross is now with the England squad, training at Arsenal's facilities for the match against Egypt. I can just imagine that Ol' Red Nose would allow Shawcross to train at Carrington had he just broke Rooney's leg in half.

Your a joker mate, pure giggles. You seem to have forgotten the real victim in all this. Ramsey.

Shawcross did what he did, now he has to deal with the consequences. Wenger questioning the challenge is one of those consequences.

Fair one, victim bit of a poor choice of word.

"forgotten who has suffered the most out of this."

Don't let that detract from the arguement though.

Yes I am real wink

We'll just agree to disagree.

Would you be so forgiving if it was your legs that was broken?

Thought not.

Let's say next time you're on your bike and some trucker does a SMIDSY and runs you over. Supposed you're going to give him the thumbs up and say: 'Yeah I'm cool. Accidents happen, I'll just put a bandage to repair my broken femur which is in 2 bits. You drive on mate. All is forgiven'.

to be fair, if it was one of those awkward 50/50 jobbies, then yes i probably would be like that.

unlike some, i dont see the worst, or best, in people, i see the facts laid out in front of me.

gutted for ramsey, and gutted for shawcross, but it wasnt malicious, wasnt anything but a badly timed challenge.

OK, troll or not question:

Do you also think Fabregas should also be banned for life for his DELIBERATE tackle that could have just as easily broken a leg.

Brilliant!! got to be post of the week, Thugs masquerading as football players, ShawX is sitting on the England bench right now with a big number 17 on his back, so surly he must have a small amount of football talent. He has played 101 games for Stoke, that was his first red, does that class shawX as a hatchet man, ummm good one, as discussed at length on various threads, ShawX had every right to go into that tackle, as did Ramsey that’s what’s called a 50/50 challenge.

If Shawcross didnt break any rules, why the red card? Surely a red card is a sign that you're not exactly playing within the rules.
The red card was the result of poor refereeing. It was a knee jerk reaction to the realisation of the outcome of an unfortunate accident, and the actions of Campbell, who has never made a bad or unfair challenge in his career.

While you're answering that, how about Kevin Nolan for this:

If Victor Anichebe didn't have abnormally strong legs he'd have snapped 1, absolutely no question. But no, at the time all we heard was "He's not that type of player".

Can't find a pic but what about Thierry Henry when he snapped David Weir?

How about St Stevie G La for this 2 footer into Gary Naysmith's thighs?

Should they all be banned for life?

I hate to see tackles like the ones I've mentioned, they have no place in football, but hard tackles should not be taken out of football. Players are going to get hurt when they go in for 50:50's, that's what happens but as bad as the injury is, it wasn't from a really dirty tackle & so to ban Shawcross for life for it? Absolutely no way

I'm such a joker, I'm coco the fking clown. jester

Wenger said it was a disgraceful tackle iirc, along with various other things implying that Shawcross did it on purpose, when Ramsay was just as much involved/to blame.

Try watching it again on youtube with your Arsenal rose tinted spectacles removed and you'll see, as everyone else with more than one brain cell (who isn't Arseface Wenger) that it was a 50/50 challenge which 99% of the time would result in no injury.

I do agree with you on the point that Ramsay has obviously come out of this the worse off, hope he recovers quickly and gets his career back on track.

IMO there is nothing to argue about unless you are;

a) Blind
b) Biased to the point of letting your prejeudice get in the way of common sense.
c) Sharing a braincell with my pet slug.
d) Arsene Wenger

There was obviously no malice in the tackle, it was 50/50 at worse, and it IS a contact sport, remember?
