Disappointing game, KC offense just hasn't got going, TB defense has been very good but too many penalties given away and it's been far too easy for Brady to move the chains

It’d be nice to see some movement from KC at this point just to keep the game interesting!

TB12 was the GOAT before tonight. He was the GOAT before win 6 against the Rams and arguably before win 5 against the Falcons.

Tonight puts a huge cherry on it. Unbelievable performance with a new team.

Tampa Bay defence won that game. Mahomes had no chance as he wasn't protected and nobody caught his passes.

Brady might have got MVP, but that performance by the defence as a whole was phenomenal..

Considering how long it took for the Bucs to play consistently this season, they could be pretty scary next year..

It made a long suffering Bucs fan very happy, as any other year I would have dipped into savings to get over there

The Tom Brady love-in by the BBC (& i'm sure other media outlets) was pretty cringeworthy. As a QB Mahomes had a much tougher game, was sacked multiple times, had to do a lot more running and improvisation and was launching the ball down the field from all angles/positions.

The key to the victory was Kansas weren't able to get through the defence and score + their players had butter fingers.

Comprehensive team victory. Very one sided.

This.

There was nothing more that Mahomes could have done to try to win that game. Offense was short, but singularly failed to protect him, seemingly unable to change the gameplan away from one wholly reliant on a uniquely mobile Quarterback. That, and failing to do the basics when Mahomes put it there.

He might have had a word with his defence about giving away needless and costly penalties throughout the game.

I don't often comment on NFL, as I always forget the thread is here to be honest.
The first season of NFL and Superbowl I followed was basically the Fridge whupping New England in 1986 at Super Bowl XX...some 35 yrs ago! For some random reason known only to 10yr olds, I became a Pats fan that night - when most logical ppl would have been a Bears fan. The days of Bill Brady Gronk seemed a long way off back then!

This season for the Pats seemed an awfully lot like back then, except worse because that at least was an ok team. This year was just a shapeless mess. Largely like Leicester Tigers have looked for a while actually, after their last great period ended. Anyway...the renewal of the Brady Gronk partnership had to make me at least a partially interested observer of the Buccs this year. What a second half of the season, just outstanding really. Brady drove them on the back end of the season pretty much like he has done in the back end of games, orchestrating down field drives.

Anyway, Im not here to wk off over Tom...Gronk is my man. Im hugely biased here and proud of it. Brady is a fly half. The running backs, the wide recievers...standard issue glory boys, just like back rows and wingers. So far, so normal. Gronk is the big lumbering, clumsy looking engine room goof who has found a way to be one of The Men. He is the man for all us big clumsy white blokes, who cant throw, cant dance, cant jump and hasn't got the moves of the cool boys.
Then he want off to retire party with fingers full of rings. When he came back he was written off. He wasn't given a chance by virtually anybody of being near what he used to be. Too big, too slow for the new hyper mobile modern generation. He would be showed up as an out of date, out of touch relic.

Well here comes the boom!

And Brady? FFS Tom, really? I mean seriously, you know you are starting to take the piss when you got more rings yourself than any one team. Im just going to presume now that Giselle thinks you are an absolute ahole at home and kicks you out to play football so you stop messing up her house.

It was utterly brainless, wasn't it.

Although, just saying, they've been allowed to play like that in the Playoffs - lots of comments by Osi & Jason about letting the players play and so on, and then all of a sudden they come up against a zero tolerance officiating team and give up penalty after penalty. As pros they should have adjusted though.

True, but if hes offence had sorted their st out and stayed on the pitch/scored, the D would have stayed off and not given away costly penalties. Easy to blame one side when the other is equally doing a st job

Yep, you’d have thought someone might have said something, it wasn’t like there wasn’t ample times or opportunities to tell them all to behave, particularly the one or two who were serial offenders gifting penalty after penalty, particularly in the second quarter with those two big pass interference calls on one drive, both of which had they not been given would have ended the drive, the interception that was chalked off and the field goal that got turned into a touchdown.

For all Brady’s brilliance, there was an awful lot of Chiefs foot shooting.

That kind of D had been the Chiefs game all season though. Hands on, in your face.
As somebody said though...there was 120 cameras on that game. Its like rugby now, if you do something - someone is going to see it!

Combined with the Chiefs having a bit of an injury crisis on the roster and PH into the game with "turf toe" and it slowly getting worse thru the game. I think basically that was his numbing meds wearing off and still having to scramble. His horizontal flying pass deserved to be caught though...stunning ability.
