That was an absolutely fantastic performance. If it continues like this, then it could be a whitewash, but it's only 1-0, the Aussies aren't dead yet.

I wonder how much of an axe will fall before Perth?

Well done your lot, we wuz flogged like a ginger step child.

Just remember there are still games to play and one swallow does neither a summer or good root make.

Onwards to Perth and may the hostilities resume.

Ok... bag placed firmy on head.

I have been watching, but I don't understand cricket. I've tried. frown

England are winning quite well, right? What about the whole ashes, are we doing well?

Well its not overly complicated. 5 match series, first match drawn, second match England win. So 1 up with 3 to play. As holders of the Ashes England only need to draw the series so Aus need to win 2 out of the last 3. On current form Aus would struggle to beat a one legged man in an arse kicking contest.

Yes we won that match quite convincingly. However the series (ashes) is best of 5. That's 2 down so the ozzys, if they pull their finger out their arsed could win 3-1. However, it is looking unlikely given the way each team are playing. Though let's not count our chickens just yet.

Now to sleep, work in 6 hours !! And for this I apologise, its not my usual posting style, but as I've had far too many ales and stayed up this late to see the win, I'd just like to add -

Thankyou and good night smile

So thats Doherty removed, confidence shattered.

Mitch removed and shattered.
Hilfy removed and shattered.
Bolly...shattered.

That only really leaves Harris and Siddle with any confidence left in the Aus bowlers. Harris has enough time now to recover, but he wont play all 3 of the last 3 tests.

Watto? Part time each test.
Katich is removed for the rest of the series.

The Aus batting I dont really care about, we dont need to take 20 wickets each match, the Aussies do. Its their bowling attack thats important. Who are they going to play? We will probably see Hauritz in for Doherty, not exactly old Shane is Nathan is he?! Keep Harris, Siddle, Bolly and Watto part time? Well maybe, but as said perviously, Harris wont be playing all 3 of the remaining Tests. The return of Mitch or Hilfy? Throw Steve Smith into the firing line?
Even with 10 days rest, can Siddle take another 2-3 days in the field for the 3rd test? If England do that to him, what do the Aussies do then? Cos we know that Harris wont take another Test of 2-3 days in the field, so that puts a big risk on the only 2 Aussie bowlers who have shown real threat so far.

Just got back from watching my mighty Patriots thrash the hated New York Jets to see this result. What a daily double! Well done to Straussy and the guys, a great victory over the cons. The series is there for the taking, can't see the crims winning a single test. beer

Well played lads Made strauss's decision to bat on look inspired genius

Would feel sorry for Punter but somehow I just can't manage it after all the years of pain. Good rewards today for Flower and Strauss and all the hard work. KP is unbeliveably good and Jimmy A is a fking machine !

Well done to the lads.

I've no idea where the Aussies go from here.

I suspect that the Aussies have no idea where to go from here.

I love it when a plan comes together. clap Great work by the whole team.

Now... Step 2, grind them into the ground. The second win retains the Ashes and the third will demoralise them for a decade smile

Total dominance by England and Australia look in tatters.

Shame to see Broad injured and going home, Looks like a chance for Tremlett. England for once have many options. Who can Australia bring in to replace their bowlers?

Did you all see the rain and thunder that came in later in the day? England were in the bar by then celebrating. hehe

An innings and 71 runs. rofl
