Is it the Stevens shape with the high rear wing? It could possibly be an X180(R).

You have the 40th anniversary edition (of Lotus, not the Esprit).
Per page 100 of the "Lotus Heritage" book, there should be a
numbered plaque mounted on the fascia to record that. It was
also the first Esprit with a veneer interior. I believe your wheels
should also be white. The blue leather and suede interior looks
great.

It has the plaque and had the white wheels they were tatty I changed them to and ordinary silver set) the car has over 100000 on it now, but has been extensively rebuilt ie engine (bottom and head), steering(rack and the rest), brakes, etc ( but can any one tell me the bHP I often see the rateing for The fuel injected cars of the same era but none for Dellortos
next project is to clean up and retore the interior(not to bad) and to fix the doors so they close flush with the body has anybody any experience with the doors and catches??????
