Hello Everyone,

My first post... I'll be there, unfortunately not in a convertible though so mine will be in the public car park. I've just moved to Chichester so it would be cool to meet some people with similar interests from PH. View my profile and drop me an email and we can exchange numbers and meet on Sunday.

See you there
Jez

If I roll up to this event around 10:00, will it all be over?

Though there may be a bit of traffic? Can sometimes get very busy, we plan to be there as early as possible smile - Though it would be nice to get a place on the track!

I do not know what the traffic is like that time of day. As I cycle up there and I get up there early and normally gone by 10am.

It was a good Breakfast Club today. My favourite car had to be the ratty unrestored Model T.

ok, serious question, although I am a bit miffed that all 5 of our convoy of Caterhams were shunted off to the public car park, along with several other very nice soft tops, how do they decide who goes in and who doesn't?
What does it take?

It was a good morning. My favourites would be;

1.) The lovely red Elan on the grid. Looked hardly restored, just in great nick

2.) The Panther Kallista. How many of those left?

3.) The Renault Caravelle. How many of those left?

4.) The Ford Thunderbird.

5.) The Maserati Khasmin that pulled in just before I left.

Says on the Goodwood website. When all areas on circuit are full and there's a major traffic que on the road the gate will be shut to ease conjestion.
Plus there were about 7000 caterhams in there :P

rubbish .. there were 7000 MX5's in there .. and they kept pouring in .. there was no rhyme or reason to it

ETA when I say rubbish, I'm not contesting that is says that on the site, but that was not the reason, the circuit was still filling up when we left 3 hours later

does it? well, I don't know, you make the effort, buy the breakfast, and have to park next to a mondeo. There were plenty of cars that got in that you would have needed an angle grinder to get the roof down biggrin

Its a caterham. Once you've seen one you may well of seen 7000. Exciting stuff!

Arrived at 08.10 and was directed straight into the "Tesco" car park. The marshals informed us that the circuit was full!!?!! No it wasn't. Fortunately there is a road linking the car park to the chicane, so I eventually re-parked near Woodcote.

I don't think there was any "vetting" - a couple of tintops got in - I think it was just a case of marshals being misinformed as there was no limit to parking and the line extended from the middle of the Lavant Straight to Madgwick.

Excatly the same. Pretty dull if I'm being honest. The grid which by the way is south of the chicane to the big white gates should only have one example of each car on it. The rest should be pleased to park anywhere and just lighten up a bit and enjoy a morning out.

me too, I absolutely agree. But if they advertise it as 'soft top sunday' then they should stick to it .. I would have been quite happy to walk the whole circuit, ignoring the cars that didn't interest me.
