Doesn't take many clicks to find a weather forecast of blazing sunshine at the weekend. The timings keep changing for when the rain comes so I would suggest there is some uncertainty about the progress of this bad weather.
Whilst I work daily with the met office I stopped using the ios apps as they are always inaccurate. My last day in work before FOS is tomorrow so I'll get an accurate forecast off the met man / met woman and let you all know, bearing in mind we don't like to go beyond 2/3 days so Sunday would be a bit speculative.

I am the bearer of bad news.
Just spoken to the met man at work. Tomorrow for the MMS should be similar weather to what we have been experiencing this week, then from Thursday night low pressure will take over and keep us unsettled through til next week.
Friday he was more specific with the morning being light/moderate persistant rain clearing by lunch then the afternoon heavy showers with potential for thunderstorms.
I remember driving home from Goodwood a fair few years ago in an awessome thunderstorm and very heavy rain, got home to find the hotel near me had been hit by lightning!!

Fingers crossed the Met office have done the usual thing and got the weather wrong. Come on sun !
Afraid not. A weak low with a front will move up from the SW bringing the unsettled and sometimes wet weather with it.Hope is that maybe the front is weak enough that the showers which may be beefy are very hit and miss and Goodwood escapes!
But Id think if it catches a downpour itll be noticeable!

Great! - So my decision to pick Friday was a great one weather wise! Hope is that maybe the front is weak enough that the showers which may be beefy are very hit and miss and Goodwood escapes!
