Hello,

Can anybody recommend quality accommmodation within 20 miles / 1.30hrs of FOS ?

Is Chichester the best for access roads?

20 miles and 1.5 hours are quite different areas smile
we have been able to get down from the Cotswolds in about 2 hours during FoS / Revival - so you could be much further away than 20 miles if you are happy to travel for a and a half hours... (assuming you don't mean 1.3 i.e. 1 hr 18 mins!)

Try booking.com you're looking around £150+ per night after a quick glance.

Try looking south along the coast; Bognor, Littlehampton, Pagham, Worthing, Selsey etc. The drive in is much easier than coming from the north or west.

You wouldn't want to stay in Littlehampton as it is a dive!!! ;-) ;-) :-) Bognor is slightly better than Littlehampton.

Windsor Hotel in Worthing pretty good with on-site & free street parking. Not full of pensioners on coach trips.
Angmering Manor hotel a delight, twixt Worthing & Arundel. Couple hotels & B& B's in Rustington near Angmering.
As already warned Littlehampton grim & no decent hotels only hostels for you know who. Bognor not much better. Brighton probably too far.
Avoid Midhurst as the place in only interested in the shouty loud rich polo set.

Premier inn at Angmering has just had a new extension built, might get a cheap room there smile

Made a fairly last minute to stay in the general area for the first time and found plenty of stuff around Portsmouth/Fareham on booking.com when I booked yesterday. 20 or so miles/40 minutes on a normal day.

Booked myself the last room at a nice little hotel in the middle of nowhere that has 8.7/10 from lots of reviews for £70 smile

I travel to Goodwood from Fareham/Portsmouth and it’s a good run as long as you’re early and remember commuter traffic if attending midweek.

I always arrive for 6:30 so arriving is never an issue, mainly booked as I tend to head off at 3pm ish to stand a chance of getting home at a reasonable hour.

I figured staying the night after in Fareham would mean I could stay later without worrying about getting back. I imagine (on the Friday) that leaving towards the end will be hideous anyway, but at least I have less difference to travel!
