It's a cheaper event aimed at members who know the gig
MM entry is more expensive than Revival - 2018 GRRC member Revival ticket was £66.20 for Saturday only, but MM weekend ticket was £120. In 2017, Revival for Saturday was £64.60, and MM for Saturday only was £75.Grandstand tickets at MM are cheaper though...

I was wondering by what definition it was 'cheap'! Particularly as at a minimum you need a £40 membership to officially buy a ticket.
Absolutely worth it just to get to see some amazing cars without elbow bashing to get a view around the track, but not cheap!
Of course you do realise there is a difference between 'cheap' and 'cheaper' don't you? One is absolute and one is relative...Absolutely worth it just to get to see some amazing cars without elbow bashing to get a view around the track, but not cheap!

And the Grandstand seats are cheaper for MM than Revival, but it's like £40 for MM and £65 for Revival IIRC.
Just back from a brilliant weekend. Well done to everyone at Goodwood for staging an amazing event. It is more expensive than FoS/Revival, but there are only 10% if that of the people and spectacular racing in the snow yesterday.
I probably had 7 layers on today & hand warmers and balaclave - it has been seriously cold. So impressed with everyone who took their cars out & felt sorry for the motorbike boys not getting a chance.
Looking forward to MM 77 already!

The event was always going ahead. The track was clear all weekend, they had snow blowers lined up and they had industrial road sweepers. Marshals were supplied with non stop soup between each race. The racers were very very aware of the track conditions and the standard of driving I thought was stunning. There were superb demonstrations of car control in tricky conditions and utter respect for other drivers and machinery.
That said...E-type drifting past a Breadvan around the outside of Woodcote will remain a special memory.
Today was ...cold!

That was probably my stand out moment of the day. Fantastic bit of driving. The four Lotus Cortinas barely lifting while battling for the top places in the last race was also a bit special.
Ahh, it was Soper? Explains things!
I had no access to a programme at the time and couldnt hear the commentary, had no idea who was in the soft top jag, who took over from Pirro in the Breadvan or who was in the chasing Jags. Think John and Jack Young were in one of the Jags?
Who was in the Lilac Lotus? That was going well today, on Saturday in qualy it could barely go in a straight line!

Having been to about 4 of these now, I think they need to move it to late April.
They should but I imagine that Lord March has been rubbing his hands this weekend. Not because they were cold, like the rest of us, but at the thought of all those hot water bottles, etc he managed to sell
Joking apart, it is a great event and I prefer it to the Revival but I think I can only put up with another blisteringly cold year before deciding it's one I'll be watching at home with a beer.
I assume there are scheduling/planning/noise reasons why it can't be later in the year.
That was an amazing overtake. We were lucky enough to be in the little Shell building grandstand at the time, it seemed like everyone in it laughed with (nervous) disbelief.
Amazing driving from everyone all weekend to be fair. Well done to everyone at Goodwood for keeping it running so well, especially all the volunteers.
Took a while to thaw ourselves out though!

After the fun and games of getting out of the car park on Saturday I chickened out and parked in Chichester and got the free shuttle from the railway station. Surprisingly stress free and at only £3 for all day parking a bit of a no brainer from now on whenever the conditions look like stranding me in a field again.
We were in the Woocote stand for that Moss Trophy pass and the collective intake of breath throughout the stand was audible. Had to leave early and missed the last race but would love to have seen what Nick Swift could have done in that Mini if he'd had a few more laps in the Gerry Marshall Sprint.
Far and away my favourite race meeting of the year.
