That being said, the weather has been cooler and wetter than some other years, and ultimately for an event at this time of year with parking on grass, we would advise you to air on the side of practicality in terms of vehicle and footwear..........
Tut, tut. You would expect better from the GRRC.
Err, that's not very good laugh

Starting to wonder at what point Goodwood will make a call on the weekend, given the current forecast for snow/ice.

My forecast is base on a location slightly more to the West, so that might be making the time difference :-)

I really hope they don’t try and maintain the date and do crummy static displays of those group 5 cars. The only reason I’m going is to see some 935’s in action. driving

I’d rather they cancelled and rearranged than did a halfway house.

As well as snow at the venue they need to consider people getting there. The southeast looks like it’s going to be a whiteout.

Looks like our KN is the weapon of choice, and 'booya' to the dress code. it's a dress to keep warm weekend.

Can't see Goodwood caning the event, that would mean refunds.

We’re doing a 550-mile round trip for this so they’d better not cancel! I’d lose £100 for the B&B and the same for diesel too.

Hello all,

As you all know, the forecast is proving to be very 'variable'. The only certainty it seems is that it will no doubt be cold, but the risk of rain and/or snow in the area is continually changing.

As such there are no changes to the timetable or schedule but do please keep an eye on the live stream, Goodwood radio, and social media for any announcements of any changes (as per any other Goodwood event).

The Event Operations Team have also arranged a comprehensive gritting programme for Goodwood's surrounding roads.

And please just remember to layer up - there is a free Cloak Room in the Chicane Paddock and stands to hang coats and hats in the various enclosures - the number of which has been increased to provide more spaces to keep warm. There are also fire pits around the event, and the Members' Meeting hot water bottles can be filled up an unlimited amount of times from the tea sheds around the events.

The paddocks are filling up behind me as I write, and we look forward to seeing you all over the weekend.

It's weird... I live about 15 miles from Goodwood and the last few days have mostly been beautiful sunshine and warm. Even my Lord March-Spec daffodills are out enjoying the sun. Yet the local weather are obstinate it's going to snow frown

*sigh* guess we'll be going anyway but it looks like on the Sunday at least the tug-of-war will be the only contest on display

To be honest I’d rather forfeit my £100 if they’re not going to run the cars round the track. Otherwise you might as well go to an expensive funfair.

It's a brave decision to carry on with the event, rather than postpone. I suspect at this late stage it's almost impossible to put the brakes on - everything will be there, and the event will now just happen regardless.

Not sure what will happen Sunday though, if it snows there won't be cars on track, so what's everyone going to do?

Wander around and get cold I guess.

What a pisser. Really wanted to hear the 935’s warm up and run, but that’s looking more a more unlikely.

We need a major change in weather.

Very much wavering on whether to go. Will be a 3 hour drive for me. Not overly worried about getting to Goodwood, it’s more the getting back that’s the concern.

Plus the thought of spending several hours, freezing by a track, with probably not much action going on. Is not really my idea of fun.

Planned to head down this year with my father. But at his age, not sure he’ll benefit from the cold and wind either.

Surely the weather won't be bad enough to skip going surely?
I've got a 3 hr drive from Suffolk so I am questioning whether to take the fun car though...

If it snows they won't be racing on track. If there's no racing, there's not much else going on there for me!

Where are these official looking updates from 'Alan' coming from?

Some useful info in the last few I've seen, but as a Fellow and a ticket holder I wouldn't have known had I not read these threads.

Well if there's no cars on track we can all watch the Six Nations in the big tent - I'm sure I read somewhere they're showing the matches live biggrin

I am 100 miles in to a 200 mile drive down... Mrs bailed this morning so I now have a spare ticket. I will get 1 million * told-you-so if it now gets cancelled.

That sounds toilet. I’d rather watch paint dry.

I’m in this for those group 5’s. If the cars aren’t running I may skip it.
